We successfully closed a 4.5-year SOFR floating rate note (FRN) trade last week, benefiting from a conducive market and good demand for this type of product. At $1 billion, the trade marked our largest FRN issuance in US dollars to date. The trade attracted significant interest from investors, with bank treasuries accounting for the majority of allocations. Joint lead managers for this transaction were Citi, Scotiabank, and TD. IFC - International Finance Corporation sold its biggest social bond yet last week week—a $2 billion issuance to support low-income communities in emerging markets. The bond was also the largest US dollar denominated social bond issued by a supranational. Despite a very crowded market, the orderbook reached a total size of $11 billion, IFC’s largest ever order book for a single bond issuance. Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Nomura, and SEB acted as joint lead managers for the transaction. The offering followed a 1 billion Australian dollar denominated social bond sold the preceding week. Shortly afterwards, IFC also issued a 155 million Swiss franc social bond, for which BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank acted as joint lead managers.
