I’m thrilled to share the results of a project that I’ve been closely following—Tibar Bay Port, a true game-changer for Timor-Leste. Watch the video to see the incredible before-and-after journey. When we looked at the challenges faced by the old Dili Port—congestion, inefficiency, and skyrocketing operational costs—it was clear that something had to be done to unlock Timor-Leste’s economic potential. Enter Tibar Bay Port, developed through the nation’s first #PPP and structured by IFC Public-Private Partnerships. The results have been transformative. Since its opening in 2022, Tibar Bay Port has created hundreds of jobs, improved cargo handling, increased capacity for larger vessels, and attracted investment, driving economic growth. This project stands as a shining example of how PPPs can drive innovation, create sustainable development, and open doors for long-term success. I’m proud that IFC played a role.
