I was confused at first but figured it out in like 60 seconds, this game was actually really fun, I continually wanted to get that next upgrade. Each one felt like it made an impact I loved it. After I had gotten quite a few upgrades I decided to play and then walked away for like 20 minutes, when i came back the game had crashed lol. Still had a blast, great game!

Thank you for playing! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I cannot tell you how long I spent on the last day trying to make the launch line better. I wanted it to be thicker and change color based on power but nothing I was trying worked so I was left with what you see. By the time it's #1 on steam It'll look better lol.
I'm trying to play all the games similar to mine and so far I think ours, in terms of style, are the most similar. 3D world, 2D movement, rage based. Your game is BRUTAL though! I really got a feel for the movement system as I played it more and it was actually really fun! 2 small suggestions though:
1. I don't think you need to have the player hold down the mouse button to move, it should automatically move without holding the LMB. But holding it down could stop your motion. So basically the opposite you have it. My finger was getting tired lol.
2. some indicator of when you have your boost available. I got so frustrated when i waited a bit, then attempted a jump and I didn't have my boost yet. a visual indicator like the hilt lighting up or something would be amazing.
However I had a blast, I wasn't able to beat it, but I'm definitely going to come back and try again!
This was a blast! the first fork gun made me laugh and I loved how each weapon worked. I think I cheated near the end as I just piled up all 3 grenades and launch myself up the right side, but that's kinda what I love about games like these, there is the "right way" but having the ability to make your own path is so fun. Also swapping between weapons mid flight was SOO Satisfying. You should give my game a chance if you can, its a very similar concept and I think you'd enjoy it!

It won't let me post a screenshot of my time but I made it in 13:28.95!
If you used to play GOI a lot, I'd love it if you took a look at my game too! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it and I think you'd enjoy it! https://djdevil8.itch.io/stabbing-over-it
Wow this game kind of blew me away at first. Love love love the concept. gameplay was tight, cowboy sound effects and theme was nailed. the guns sound great. loved when the bullets clicked against the ground. It did feel a bit like a downgrade when I went from shotguns to snipers. I feel like they should've done like 10 or even 15 dmg instead of just 5. There also doesn't really seem to be a downside to just always having your vacuum on, maybe a stamina bar for suction would give players a reason to not just hold it down forever. Also maybe I just missed it but i have no idea what the power ups/passive buffs did. I was just having fun dashing around and shooting things. All just suggestion I still had a blast. Great game!
We made very similar games! I love your art style and the music... frustratingly calming for a game that makes me want to smash my computer to bits. Unexpectedly gory in a pretty funny way tbh, and super challenging. I do think think it would be more approachable with some kind of direction and/or power indicator to help you get more consistent throws at the beginning. It helps new players understand the physics faster and as you play and get better you'll naturally ignore it. Overall great game, well done!
We made very similar games! I felt like I had to try yours out. I LOVED the art style music and the whole vibe it all meshed really well together. I Also really appreciated that the launcher followed the mouse even outside the game window, big win there. the preview shadows and line showing where the axe will be sent are really well done and I loved that! The CHUNKY sounds effects and particle effects were really nice as well. Overall amazing game and frustrating in the best way!
Wow, this game was actually a blast! The music fit really well and I loved the art style and color pallet you used. I loved how the levels start out nice and simple and teach you the mechanics well before ramping up a bit. Took me longer than I want to admit before I realized you only get 1 reload in the air between landing. The reload animation, sound and mechanic are awesome, loved everything about that. I think the difficulty curve could be tweaked slightly, and i think having the gun rotate to follow the mouse slightly faster would make it feel a bit nicer to play. I realize that is part of the challenge but it felt just a little clunky. Overall loved the game!
Love the art style and the music. I think you nailed the vibe. I think the game could use more direction. A mini-map to keep track of where you are would have been really helpful. Maybe if the scientists chased you and dealt damage that would also add some variety to the gameplay. Overall though nice job!
I think the concept you have here is great, it really incentivizes the player to take their time and think about their choices. I think where the game fell a little flat for me is that it doesn't clearly enough let the player know what those choices are and what the goal is.
I found myself confused as soon as I started. What am I doing what's my goal? why is my screen all black. (I figured that last one out quickly but for a second I thought it broke lol).
I feel like an expanded tutorial to start would greatly help new players so they understand what they are supposed to be doing. A key of what the different objects on the ground are and what they will do. why the player should be looking for them etc...
Also having to completely restart every time you die was pretty frustrating.
Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback! Its super valuable for me especially since this is my first game.
I absolutely wanted to have a Hud based tutorial, I just honestly didn't know how to make one and I was afraid of running out of time lol. Next time.
I felt like with an arcade game style like this, where there really only is 1 "level" there needed to be ways to make it challenging enough that it felt amazing when you got that "perfect" run. That was my thought process when I made some of those decisions. But I also totally see your point with it being a bit too punishing. Maybe just a time penalty could be better, or to your point, losing that piece of bread might be punishment enough.
