the movement is really fun and i like the cut sound but i think there is a lack of feedback when you hit an enemy or when you get hit
Cool game! The movement feels very satisfying and I enjoyed zipping past enemies while jumping and going diagonally to move faster. I also liked the atmosphere and the scene where you can see the castle off in the distance was beautiful!
This feels like a game meant for speedruns with the way it plays currently, and I actually quite enjoyed it playing it that way. The way you have movement setup currently results in you doubling your velocity when pressing two inputs (that don't cancel each other out), which some people might not like.
I also think the enemies hurtboxes might be just a bit too big, and their hitboxes might benefit from being bigger as well, but it may just be the lack of a hit indicator that's the problem. The enemies might also need some sort of health indicator, or at least the boss, as it was hard to tell how close I was to defeating the dragon.
(Side note: It would be cool if the dragon couldn't hurt you while it's asleep, so then you could wail on it with the scissors without worrying about dying when that happens)
Additionally, it was a bit hard to aim at times, and I think having some sort of reticle would help. (It would also be neat if the projectiles were paper ninja stars)
I wasn't able to access the secret ending though, and I'm not sure if there's an issue in the game or if I did something wrong?
Thanks for the reply! The dragon is not supposed to be able to hit you so I'm not exactly sure what's happening there. Also the secret ending is accessed through collecting two secret orbs first and then opening the door, if that didn't work it might be bugged but it worked in my testing so idk. love the pfp btw
I didn't encounter any orbs that I can remember during my playthroughs. If I have time I may have to go back and see if I can find anything.
I will play more later, but I like what I saw, the visuals are neat, and the combat is okay, the atmosphere is great, too. But I must say that the audio is nearly none, the scissors are the only sound, and it feels off, it really breaks my immersion.
The art is so cool! The levels look great and the level design is nice. Loved the distant buildings across the sea.
Fab:
The art! The levels look great.
Level progression is nice.
The mechanics work nice and smooth.
I didn't want to snip the cute bat so I'm happy I could dodge the enemies haha.
Improvements:
Sound: footsteps and enemy sounds would go far.
The level transitions were very snappy - a little jarring.
The combat was difficult without getting hit.
Love the visuals! Wish there was some sort of simple hit indicator, struggled to hit enemies without loosing health since there is no range indicator or hit feedback.
this is great XD
I really like the enemy design and how all the environments look! struggles with the scissors a little but I got the hang of it! Really nice game!
This game has so much personality! You nailed the environment and art, making it a super fun visual experience. The controls felt a bit floaty, but still totally manageable. Adding some checkpoints could be a cool touch since there’s a lot of exploring to do.
Awesome work really love the vibe on this one!
