I got fooled!! Nice work for a beginner and glad to hear you did all the assets yourself!

Developer

thanks!

Interesting concept! I think it would have helped if the music loop was a bit longer and if the walking segments were a bit shorter since the walking didn’t meaningfully add to the gameplay. I think adding more characters and hints would make the solve more interesting. Overall good effort!

Developer

thanks for the feedback

Cool concept, it would have been interesting if you actually collected evidence and when you caught the murderer you had to choose the pieces of evidence that prove he's guilty.

The background music was also very repetitive.

Developer

it sure would be great to add those things but i have not had enough time to add depth to the game because i am completly new to game dev and because of that i am pretty slow

A very short game with a little secret!

My suggestion for improvement is that you can add these mechanics:
1) Expand the Q key mechanic. Make arresting the wrong person more significant. For example, you can punish the player for arresting the wrong person - change the murder colours, let the player not restart the game, but change the investigation.
2) Also, add more people and make some innocent people lie. This will make the investigation more difficult.

But it's a nice try for a mini-game made for a mini jam!

That are some awesome suggestions but i am working on a "main project" wich is a plattformer and i had way more fun developing that than developing a detective game.

Honestly I had a hard time getting past the spelling and grammar errors (e.g. the person who commits a murder is a "murderer,").

Developer

sorry for rushing the spelling this is defenitly something i should put more time in the next time

You could try doing game developement outside of jams before participating in one maybe

Developer(+1)

i could but i think that jams will motivate me more and i am not here for getting a high placement anyways but just for the fun

Fair enough then

It's sorta good, not very interesting. And the audio is a bit off.

Developer

yeah I did not manage to make it very interesting. And the audio is bad but thats mainly because I never used audio before so this was the first time learning audio. Thanks for the feedback i will try to improve it for my next game!
