Diverse representation in clinical research helps ensure safe and effective treatments for everyone. A recent piece from Catherine Ofori-Atta and Sandra Amaro, MBA in Healthcare Business Today, discusses how sponsors can achieve diverse representation by prioritizing diversity initiatives early on, building partnerships with underserved communities, and implementing practical steps such as inclusive protocols and translated consent forms that will allow these trials to maintain speed and efficiency. #clinicaltrialdiversity #acceleratinganswers Read more about how individuals and organizations can enhance clinical trial diversification: https://lnkd.in/eCi4nefQ

Patients want to have their voices heard in clinical trials. "Excluding patients from clinical trials can have a significant impact on engagement. Patients and clinicians have different perspectives when it comes to treatment success and outcomes [...] To optimize trial meaningfulness and success, researchers must engage with patients and caregivers – who are experts in their own right – through authentic conversations from the onset of trial design." #clinicaltrials #patientengagement #healthcare

By incorporating patient perspectives into the core of clinical trial design, we not only enhance the relevance and effectiveness of treatments—we demonstrate care for the autonomy and livelihood of those affected by illness in order to pave the way for a more equitable and compassionate healthcare landscape. As we continue to embrace patient-centricity, we're on track to see a real transformation in how we approach healthcare, with patients as active collaborators and co-creators in the pursuit of better outcomes and shared healing journeys. One of the best ways to prove value is to demonstrate effectiveness in tangible settings. #PatientCare #Healthcare #PatientEngagement

For over a decade, we’ve talked about making drug development more "𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵-𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 ", but the truth is, most trials are still stuck in the old ways. To genuinely enhance the patient experience and improve outcomes, a substantial paradigm shift is necessary. We must move beyond simply involving patient advocacy groups in discussions and instead completely revamp our clinical trial design philosophy. If you've heard me speak on this topic before, you'll know that I often emphasize the limited understanding in the industry of the interconnectedness of all elements within the healthcare ecosystem. Our goal should be to foster collaborative solutions that address the broader social, environmental, and cultural determinants of health. By focusing on the healthcare system as a whole and keeping the patient at its center, clinical trials can evolve to become more effective, inclusive, and responsive to the real-world needs and conditions of the patient population. #clinicaltrials #patientadvocacy #healthequity #SDoH #healthcareinnovation #patientcenteredcare

Check out this article about the necessity of patient centricity and intuitive experiences for Decentralized Clinical Trials by Justine Ra for Clinical Trials Arena! We couldn't agree more! As the industry moves further towards the world of DCT, procedures and devices must take into account what patients truly need to succeed throughout the Clinical Trials lifecycle. With the added complexities of subjects facilitating parts of Clinical Trials within their own homes, it’s crucial that all elements that the subject interacts with are intuitive and reduce the burden of the clinical trial participant. #clinicaltrials #insight #decentralizedclinicaltrials #patientcentric #patientexpereince https://lnkd.in/dEkTAYhc

Clinical trials, a foundational element of advancing health outcomes often overlooks a key component: patient input. The reality is that the majority of trials do not engage with patients adequately. While the expertise of academics and clinicians is invaluable, a recent study by the Health Stories Project reveals that: ▪ 97% of patients find it crucial to include their feedback ▪ 83% are willing to provide such feedback However, 🔴 85% of patients dropout due to trials not meeting their needs.... that is crazy! Patients bring unique insights into treatment efficacy and outcomes based on their daily experiences with their conditions. It's time we start actually taking action and advancing more inclusive trial designs. #ClinicalTrials #PatientInsights #PatientAdvocacy #HealthEquity #TrialDesign
