Panellist Kesha Tansey already wowed us earlier this week with her vulnerability, passion, and power as one of our #IWD event speakers. True to her character, she wasn't done there, and has pulled together this thoughtful and inspiring round up of her experience of our discussion 🧡

This week, Kesha Tansey, Senior Director, Client Partnerships, Inizio Evoke Europe, took the stage at Women in Brand’s International Women’s Day panel session to tackle a critical question: How do we build a fairer, more accessible future for the branding world? With more women leaving the creative sector than ever and a growing demand for flexibility and inclusivity, it’s clear that progress requires action. Rethinking how work gets done, ensuring visibility for women in leadership, and embracing allyship aren’t just ideals—they’re essential steps toward lasting change. The latest big brand debate 👀 Pretty Little Thing has been all over socials this week for their unexpected rebrand. Here’s what we know about it so far - 🛍️ Their rebrand serves consumers a more up-market look - a Burberry-esque ident with ‘Legacy in Progress’ strapline to match. Competitor Missguided tried to execute similar just a couple of years ago, with a controversial reception. 💰 In the process, PLT have reportedly been rapidly selling off stock to make way for their new look - including at prices as low at 8p. 💬 Positive or negative, they have garnered a wave of attention and reactions due to the aesthetic and strategic contrast, also resurfacing coverage of the company’s disputed ethics and processes. So WIB community, what’s your thoughts on this latest retail rebrand? #prettylittlething #rebrand #brandidentity

I managed to join most of this webinar today and it was a fantastic discussion with an amazing panel! Lots that resonated and lots that expanded my thinking! Some [paraphrased] snippets that I'll take away with me... "Don't lift the ladder up behind you" Victoria Montgomery   "Challenge thinking with data, it makes it objective" Elle Davidson "I intro people I meet to 3 others; if everyone is winning, I'm winning" Rachel Allison "Don't change who you are" Kesha Tansey

I had the privilege of attending the Women in Brand event this afternoon, and it was truly insightful. The session featured a panel of experts—Rachel Allison, Kesha Tansey, and Elle Davidson—facilitated by Victoria Montgomery. Together, they delved into the importance of creating a fairer, more inclusive future for women in the branding industry, while also shedding light on some hard-hitting truths...One of the most alarming takeaways was the rate at which women are leaving creative industries. It’s clear that we all have a responsibility to advocate for our female colleagues and drive meaningful change within our own workplaces. Thanks to all involved in sharing this conversation, we appreciate it!

When it comes to career progression, younger women face a "broken rung" and younger men don't prioritise gender equity in the same way. In 2024, just 81 women were promoted to "manager" for every 100 men. That only scratches the surface of findings from the #WomenintheWorkplace 10th anniversary report, and that Marianne Cooper and Priya Fielding-Singh summarised in Harvard Business Review - https://lnkd.in/e6w_iQdf. For the first time in two decades, the gender wage gap widened, and the barrier to workplace equity got worse, not better. Just sit with that for a second. Let's face it, the cards dealt by 2025 so far haven't exactly filled us with optimism that it's improving organically any time soon. That's where Women in Brand come in. 🐆 Our network exists to amplify and celebrate the incredible women in our discipline. But we're also here to re-examine, redesign, and reshape the structures we all experience as the norm, and which don't. work. for. women. And for this year's #InternationalWomensDay, I'm chairing a WIB conversation that has never felt more timely. Joined by Kesha Tansey, Elle Davidson, and Rachel Allison, we'll examine how we can all build a fairer, more accessible world for women in branding. Everyone is invited to this event, because everyone is responsible for gender equity. Be part of the conversation on 4 March, and help make change happen. It's free, it's online, and it's open to all. RSVP now: https://lnkd.in/dTESMwcz See you there. 👊
