Our very own Dr. Davendra Sohal, an oncologist at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, shared expert insight in a recent New York Times article. He explains how an unhealthy diet can disrupt the gut microbiome, leading to chronic inflammation, which may contribute to colon and pancreatic cancers. “In some cases, chronic inflammation may be what ultimately leads to cancer,” Dr. Sohal explains.
