It is a FHWA requirement for independent testing to assess a certified technician’s ability to perform laboratory tests accurately. This demonstrates the competency of the technician and reliability of test results. Proficiency testing is used to evaluate both the technician and testing equipment. Accurate and reliable test results will lead to the production of quality asphalt mixture that will give us long-lasting asphalt pavements. #WhatYouDoMatters
