#meetcute alert! Coastal ecosystems and economic growth are making quite the pair. Today, The Nature Conservancy & Conservation International launched Blue Carbon Plus (BC+), a trailblazing initiative where nature and people thrive together. BC+ accelerates business models that protect and conserve blue carbon ecosystems. By 2050 they aim to: 🌿 Contribute to the conservation and restoration of up to 16.9 million hectares of mangrove, tidal marsh, and seagrass 🪴 Realize climate benefits equivalent to the storage of up to 2.2 gigatons of CO2 💹 Increased incomes for more than 50 million people. BC+ is currently seeking applications for the first-ever BC+ Challenge, a competition for promising early-stage projects and businesses. Winners of the Challenge will receive funding, support, and exposure to investors! Click the link below to learn more. This work is supported by the ORCA - Ocean Resilience & Climate Alliance & through the generous contributions of its funding partners. #CoastalConservation #BlueCarbon #ClimateAction #SustainableEconomy #mangroves #seagrass #tidalmarsh #kelp

Did you know that shorter winters and hotter summers are helping invasive species thrive? These species tend to be generalists with a broader climate tolerance, making it harder for native species to compete. But there's hope! Since humans are a major driver of invasive species spread, we also have the power to curb it. Learn more about how we can make a difference in the fight against the spread of invasive species.

📣 Good Nature News: After over a year of complex negotiations, The Nature Conservancy has helped resolve a decades-long land-use conflict at one of California’s most iconic natural areas. The new agreement balances the continuation of some ranching activities with the prioritization of ecological protection and wildlife conservation. This monumental effort, involving ranchers, the National Park Service, and environmental advocates, has brought an end to a long-standing legal conflict, achieving what was once considered an impossible challenge.

Every day, we make sure nature has a voice in the policies our elected leaders create. Policies that have helped protect our national parks and public lands, saved the animals we love, cleaned the air we breathe and much, much more. Even during challenging times, we have to keep fighting for strong policies that protect nature. And now, more than ever, we need people like you to use your voice to speak up for nature! Where better to find common ground than a forest? Or a wetland. Or a grassland. In a world that can seem divided, nature brings us together. Recent polls show that people across Brazil, Canada, and the U.S. support strategies to protect, better manage and restore nature to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and store more carbon.
