https://lnkd.in/ejxYJY59 Sad to hear about more layoffs at Block affecting even more friends and colleagues. The good that's come out of the last year is seeing all the amazing companies everyone's ended up at or new journeys started. 30,000+ incredible businesses run on Ramp. We wanted to find a way for our team to support and get to know them, all while putting our own product to the test. Enter: The Know Your Customer Spend Program. Each quarter, we give every employee $50 to spend with selected Ramp customers. This past quarter's featured customers: 🏋️ Barry's 🥾 AllTrails 🍻 Athletic Brewing Co.Kolkata Chai Co. 🍽️ Food52 Funds are auto-issued, restricted to these merchants only, and automatically coded to the right general ledger account in NetSuite. Employees can spend via physical cards, virtual cards, or reimbursements. The results? ✅ Our team discovers amazing products from our customer community ✅ Our customers gain new business ✅ We pressure-test our own features in the process HUGE thanks to all the Ramp team members who participated in Q1! We'll be announcing our featured customers for Q2 soon 👀

Starbucks is in the midst of a massive turnaround led by former Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol, who joined 6 months ago. We still haven't seen a meaningful impact on sales. Ramp card data from business spenders shows that Starbucks' decline isn't just coming from it's core consumer demographic. Business spenders have also turned away from the American coffee chain. As a share of food and drink sales, Starbucks is down 15% on Ramp's platform, lagging the U.S. average for large chains, where spending is up. It's rare to see a decline this significant, and when it happens, it's usually not because of "one thing." But the current turnaround plan gives us some clues about where Starbucks is looking (more seating, power outlets, wifi). I'm skeptical these will work. Business spenders are often high-income, traveling for work, between meetings. Are they looking for power outlets? In any case, business spenders are key to growing Starbucks revenues and this decline reflects a larger strategic issue with the chain.

Thank you for the seasonal care package Ramp! Especially love the attention to items that promote centering, self care, and calmness: 🧦 Cozy socks for that remote work life. 🧢 Cute hat for my walks, now that springtime sunshine is popping up in Montana (although not quite in this pic). 🧘🏽♀️ Eye mask to help me meditate, which I’ve just started doing this past week. 🛀 Bath salts for unwinding. ⚖️ And a balancing puzzle, a good reminder that balance can be structured in many ways if you deliberatly craft it.
