📢 Today we're announcing ChatGPT Gov, a version of ChatGPT that government agencies can deploy in their own MS Azure commercial or government cloud environment. Enabling the public sector, especially the U.S. Federal government, to leverage ChatGPT is critical to maintaining America’s global leadership in AI. We see enormous potential for these tools to support the public sector in tackling complex challenges—from improving public health and infrastructure to strengthening national security 🇺🇸 More details here: https://lnkd.in/efwTFRmv And much more to come!

Introducing a research preview of Operator, an agent that can use its own browser to perform tasks for you. Operator is one of our first agents, which are AIs capable of doing work for you independently—you give it a task and it will execute it. Operator is based on a new model we’re calling “computer-using agent” (CUA). CUA combines GPT-4o's vision capabilities with advanced reasoning through reinforcement learning. It’s trained to control a computer in the same way a human would—it looks at the screen, and uses a mouse and keyboard. Since this is a research preview, we are starting small—Operator will first be available to Pro users in the US at operator.chatgpt.com. Eventually, this will be part of ChatGPT and available more broadly. We plan to bring CUA to the API for developers soon.

OpenAI is proud to work with hundreds of media organizations and news outlets worldwide to develop innovative ways of advancing journalism in the AI era. Today, I’m thrilled to announce our newest partnership with Axios to help establish four local newsrooms in underserved markets across the country We’re a young company that’s invested significantly in this work in hopes to shift how the tech industry interacts with news publishers. We think that’s very much worth supporting. This partnership represents the next chapters in our work with publishers whereby we are using our technology to help a forward looking and innovative media outlet to help solve a really hard problem that is really important for a healthy democracy: providing a sustainable news reporting model to help ensure the public has access to the news happening in their community Our goal is to support a healthy news ecosystem while ensuring that the hundreds of millions of people who use ChatGPT each week have access to timely information from respected news outlets and content brands like News Corp, The Atlantic, Financial Times, Vox Media, and Condé Nast. All told, we’ve partnered with nearly 20 media organizations and are providing our technology to more than 160 news outlets and hundreds of content brands in more than 20 languages globally We’ve also launched collaborative grant programs with three non-profit organizations — the American Journalism Project, the Lenfest Institute for Journalism, and the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) – to support local and global journalism As part of our new partnership with Axios, we’ll help create local newsrooms in Pittsburgh, Pa.; Kansas City, Mo.; Boulder, Colo.; and Huntsville, Ala. The agreement kicks off the next phase of our media partnership work, which will focus on helping publishers more effectively integrate our tools to help journalists do their work more efficiently while enabling publishers to give readers interactive new ways of engaging with their content A special thank you to Tom Rubin, Varun Shetty, Christina Lim, David Duxin, and James Dyett who have led this initiative with our media partners, as well as our product, research and engineering leads, Nicholas Turley, Adam Fry, Saguna Goel, Cristina Scheau, and Michael Janner We’re excited to continue working closely with the news industry and media partners to explore how the publishers can best leverage AI for their audience, while we deliver their trusted, timely content to ChatGPT users https://lnkd.in/eUvHqHfJ

Today we’re rolling out a beta version of tasks—a new way to ask ChatGPT to do things for you at a future time. Whether it's one-time reminders or recurring actions, tell ChatGPT what you need and when, and it will automatically take care of it. In chat or using the tasks page under the profile menu, you can schedule tasks you want ChatGPT to do, such as send you  a weekly global news briefing, get a daily personalized 15-minute workout, or set a reminder for the future. Tasks is rolling out today to Plus, Pro, and Teams users in beta…and eventually to everyone with a ChatGPT account.

Today, we shared evals for an early version of the next model in our o-model reasoning series: OpenAI o3 and o3-mini. On several of the most challenging frontier evals, OpenAI o3 sets new milestones for what’s possible in coding, math, and scientific reasoning. It also makes significant progress on the ARC-AGI evaluation for the first time. We plan to deploy these models early next year, but we’re opening up early access applications for safety and security researchers to test these frontier models starting today: https://lnkd.in/ghJWP_ui
