About us

HOPICS stands for Homeless Outreach Program, Integrated Care System. We are a Division of Special Services for Groups. We are committed to serving the Community in Service Planning Area 6 (SPA 6) in Los Angeles County (including Lynwood, Paramount and Compton). We are one of the largest housing and homeless service agencies in Los Angeles County and the largest in SPA 6. We offer a range of services from not only housing, but behavioral health, reentry services, harm reduction and more. We serve poor and low-income households with a client-centered 'whatever it takes' approach. This approach is why we are recognized leaders in direct service and advocacy for those experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Los Angeles County.

  • #shoutout to LA’s BEST | Afterschool Enrichment Program: Explore. Engage. Expand. “LA’s Best plays a vital role in the lives of unique and talented elementary school students who attend over 200 LAUSD schools in neighborhoods with the fewest resources yet the greatest needs. Every school day and during summer, each LA’s BEST student receives a nutritious meal, academic support and the opportunity to participate in a wide array of enrichment activities – at no cost to families. The LA’s BEST Summer Program mirrors our program during the regular academic school year where children are engaged in experiential learning opportunities around language arts, sports, student wellness and lots of fun.” Operations Office 📍711 East 14th Place Los Angeles, CA 90021 📞 (213) 745-1900

  • 📢 New Case Study: Tackling Racial Disparities in LA County Homelessness Black residents make up 31% of the homeless population, even though they are only 9% of the County’s total population. But change is happening. A new case study from the Los Angeles County Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion (ARDI) Initiative explains how unfair systems have caused homelessness among Black residents—and how the County is making changes. Key points include: 🔹 20 recommendations to address racial differences in homelessness. 🔹 The LA Housing Assessment Tool (LA HAT): A tool to help people access housing. 🔹 How the Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System (HOPICS), Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and LA County’s ARDI Initiative are helping improve outcomes for people without homes. This case study shows how to create fair solutions. Read more: https://shorturl.at/EyGPR
