Thank you, UCLA MHA students! 💙 💛 We are so grateful to the UCLA MHA program for assembling toiletry and clean home kits to support the women and gender-diverse individuals we serve at DWC. As the only organization in Los Angeles dedicated exclusively to empowering women and gender-diverse individuals experiencing homelessness, access to essential hygiene and cleaning supplies makes a tremendous difference in our community. Through their participation, MHA students not only contributed valuable resources but also deepened their understanding of the urgent need for safe, stable housing. As MHA student Jessica Graziano shared, "Taking part in this initiative opened the door to learning more about the incredible work DWC does. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, and to spread awareness of their impact." Thank you to the UCLA MHA program for your generosity and commitment to service! #UCLAExecHPM #CommunitySupport #DWC #EndHomelessness

Investing in employment means investing in real solutions! Through our LA:RISE program, we’re creating pathways to stability—helping women and gender-diverse individuals gain employment, build skills, and achieve economic independence. Why It Matters: ✅ Jobs provide long-term stability and housing security ✅ LA:RISE strengthens businesses, communities, and the local economy ✅ Everyone deserves the tools, resources, and support needed to thrive Programs like LA:RISE open doors to opportunity, stability, and success. A huge thank you to our City and County leaders for driving meaningful change across Los Angeles! #DWC #LARISE

Thank you to everyone who came out today to help us break ground for a brighter future with Rosa's Place, a new home dedicated to helping women end homelessness through permanent supportive housing. With shovels in hand, we are building a solid foundation for all of our future residents to find healing, hope, and a fresh start from the moment they walk through our doors. Here's to new beginnings and brighter tomorrows! #RosasPlace #EndHomelessness #PermanentSupportiveHousing #GroundbreakingWomen #DWC #DowntownWomensCenter #SkidRow

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we honor Groundbreaking Women, Then & Now: The Journey to Leadership. This week, we shine a light on Adelene, a true force of resilience and change. At just 16, she faced homelessness on Skid Row—but she never gave up. Through determination, she secured stable housing, pursued higher education at UCLA, and now works as a Senior Peer Support Specialist at the Downtown Women’s Center. Adelene helped pioneer Project 100, successfully housing 100 women and shaping DWC’s Housing Justice Program. She’s also been instrumental in the Skid Row Action Plan, fighting for permanent housing solutions and critical services. Her story is proof that one person can create lasting change. Help transform the lives of women like Adelene and donate in honor of a groundbreaking woman in your life. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gm73G7q3 #WomensHistoryMonth #GroundbreakingWomen #Leadership #DWC #SkidRow #HousingJustice
