Thanks to our education department, students enrolled in our Hope U classes, as well as our Homeboy community, get the privilege to spend time in kinship with various community leaders and impactful artists. This month, we were visited by activist, artist and poet laureate of Los Angeles, Luis J Rodriguez. We were honored to share space with a Los Angeles legend. He joined us for morning meeting, visited the Homeboy Art Academy and spent time with our creative writing class, sharing his story and listening to our students poems. It was beautiful to hear how our community has been positively impacted by Luis and his work.
