VM0047 is changing how afforestation, reforestation, and revegetation (ARR) projects are assessed, setting a new standard for high-integrity carbon credits. But implementing it can be challenging. From selecting control plots to processing complex geospatial data, many teams struggle with the methodology’s technical demands. That’s where Earth Blox and Chloris Geospatial come in. By combining no-code workflows with high-quality biomass data, we help organisations run VM0047-aligned assessments in hours, not weeks. Data security is fundamental to protecting business-critical information. When handling sensitive datasets for finance, supply chains, and insurance, security breaches are not an option. That’s why Earth Blox has achieved #ISO27001 certification, the internationally recognised standard for information security management. This ensures: 🔒 Robust data protection: safeguarding your sensitive information from unauthorised access and breaches. 📉 Reduced risk exposure: identifying and mitigating potential threats before they become a problem. ✅ Regulatory compliance: aligning with regulations like GDPR to ensure we meet the compliance standards your organisation relies on. With ISO 27001 in place, our customers can trust that their data is managed with the highest level of security and diligence. As businesses navigate the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (#TNFD), there’s growing interest in how #AI can enhance nature risk management. AI’s ability to process complex, large-scale data offers immense potential for identifying and managing dependencies and impacts on nature. Yet, while the promise of AI is real, it’s not without its challenges. From fragmented data locked behind commercial silos to issues with reproducibility and transparency, organisations face hurdles in adopting AI for nature strategy. At Earth Blox, we advocate for practical solutions: 1️⃣ Promoting open data collaboration to tackle fragmentation 2️⃣ Championing standards for AI reproducibility and transparency 3️⃣ Leveraging robust tools like our TNFD solution to meet disclosure requirements today The path to an AI-enhanced future is clear: we need pragmatic, actionable steps that align with TNFD’s mission to create a sustainable and transparent approach to nature-related risks. Last week the Scottish Development International Science and Technology Trade Team held out Global Insights week, where our global team came back to Scotland to collaborate, learn and gain valuable insights! A week which combined site visits, company meetings, presentations, training, networking, and a lot of good natured Scottish banter! It reminds me what make Scottish Enterprise great... our people! Our biggest asset is the knowledge, insights and expertise we can bring to the companies we support and the hard work of our overseas colleagues, who work in huge markets with limited resource,is not lost on me. But they do their jobs with a smile, no complaints and a whole lot of passion! The other key takeaway for me is the innovation and entrepreneurialism across Scotland is incredible, we just need to get better at selling ourselves, shouting about how good we are and continuing to build key partnerships! With thanks to all of the companies, partners and colleagues who hosted us, presented and met with us last week (too many to thanks and I will definitely miss some). In particular I'd like to thank: - The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, Plexus Corp., University of Strathclyde; Adam Smith's Panmure House and Trades Hall of Glasgow for hosting us. - All the companies who presented - including Derek Harris from Skyrora Ltd, Prof Iain H Woodhouse 🌍🛰 (伊恩・伍德豪斯 教授) from Earth Blox, Dr Sharon Lèmac-Vincere from University of Strathclyde, Alisdair Gunn from Glasgow City Innovation District and Derek Bennet from AAC Clyde Space - Chris Newlands from Space Aye and the team at AAC Clyde Space including Pamela Smith (Anderson)and Caius Reza for meeting with us on Friday And a huge thanks and well done to my brilliant colleagues Andrew Dickson, John Semple, Lorraine Anderson and in particular to Julia Foley for making the week a success! #innovation #science #technology #insights #internationaltrade #scotlandisnow

The VM0047 methodology is a big step forward for nature-based carbon markets, bringing more transparency, consistency, and credibility to ARR project assessments 🌲 But applying it isn’t easy. Selecting the right control plots, aligning datasets, and running complex geospatial analyses can slow down projects and introduce uncertainty. With Earth Blox and Chloris Geospatial, project developers can navigate VM0047 with confidence. Our no-code workflows and high-resolution biomass data streamline carbon accounting, reducing assessment time from weeks to just hours — without compromising accuracy.
