  • 📖 We've refined our Accelerator playbook over the last three years. One of the major lessons from the 3 cohorts we've supported so far: 🔖 Product Market Fit isn't the same as vanity metrics and positive sentiments from climate conferences. What do we mean? The metrics that matter most for a startup are: ARR retention customer satisfaction usage. Those KPIs are all lagging - that is they take time to understand. Some up to 12 months. Startups often don’t have that kind of time.  The curve ball here is that more instant and 'loud' metrics are unhelpful vanity metrics - social likes, email opens, praise from industry, etc. There’s low correlation of those and the above. Often times they are misleading. 💫 This and a whole lot more we have unpacked with PMF-guru Peter Nocchiero of Alternate Future who is coming in to run part of our AI x Climate Accelerator. A better world won't build itself — why wait? Applications are open until February 3rd. 🔗 Apply now: https://lnkd.in/dhiKf8Xx

  • For our AI Accelerator we grouped AIs 'superpowers' in 4 clusters: 🌍 Prediction and Monitoring ⚡ Optimization and Efficiency 🤖 Automation and Action 💡 Knowledge and Insights Here is a teaser for category #3: automation and action 🔻 🤖 From analysis to action, with assistance: How AI turns climate plans into reality, and agents assist each step of the way. Across #Davos events this week Salesforce kept saying we're in the 'Agentic era' of AI development. We couldn't agree more. AI is bridging the gap between knowing what needs to be done and actually doing it! And Agents can be trained to support internal processes and decision making, and make insights actionable 🌟 Here are some examples: 🚜 Autonomous technologies like precision agriculture tools are reducing pesticide use while boosting crop yields. 🛠️ Automated renewable energy systems adjust grid loads in real time to maximize efficiency. 🏗️ Robotics are helping build infrastructure with sustainable materials faster and more affordably. 🤖 AI agents can transform the way nonprofits operate, enhancing productivity and allowing nonprofit staff to better support communities bearing the brunt of climate change. 💥 Its clear that automation and action tools mean we can deploy more insightful climate solutions at scale, faster than ever. 🔻 🔻 🔻 🔻 🔻 We’re scouting for innovators using AI to act on climate challenges. 🔥  Know someone tackling this space? Apply to our Climate AI Accelerator by February 3: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eT6bSmFb 🔺 🔺 🔺 🔺 🔺 Let’s automate for impact. • ..AI superpower teaser: Prediction and monitoring.. 🌍 How can AI help us predict and monitor the health of our planet? 🌱 📢 At Climate Collective, we've identified 'Prediction and Monitoring' as one of the core "superpowers" of AI for sustainability. 💡 Know someone tackling this space? Apply to our Climate AI #Accelerator by February 3: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eT6bSmFb 🔍 Tools powered by AI prediction and monitoring are game-changers for nature and climate work, we've grouped them in two nuckets: 🛰️ Computer Vision: For example, spotting methane leaks or illegal fishing analyzing images from space, or tracking endangered spices from social media tourism video feeds. ⚡ Models and Simulations: For example, forecasting climate change impacts on vulnerable regions or running scenarios for renewable energy transitions, or speeding up time to reach equilibrium for many IPCC climate scenarios with up to 10 times (from months to under a week). Here are a number of interesting applications - links below: 🔢 Analyzing vast datasets: AI algorithms can analyze huge amounts of climate data from various sources like satellites, weather stations, and ocean buoys. This helps in identifying patterns and trends that might be missed by traditional methods. 🚜 Optimizing agricultural practices: AI can analyze data on weather, soil, and crops to optimize irrigation, fertilization, and pest control. This helps in increasing crop yields and reducing the environmental impact of agriculture. 🏭 Tracking GHG emissions: AI can be used to track emissions from various sources, such as power plants and factories. This helps in monitoring progress towards emissions reduction targets and identifying areas where more action is needed. 🔥 Assessing disaster damage: AI can analyze satellite images and other data to assess the damage caused by natural disasters. This helps in coordinating relief efforts and allocating resources effectively. 🌲 Deforestation and land use change detection: AI can analyze satellite images to detect deforestation, changes in land use, and other environmental changes. This helps in monitoring forests, protecting biodiversity, and ensuring sustainable land management. 💡 Know someone tackling this space? 3 weeks left to apply to our Climate AI #Accelerator -> -> -> February 3: 🚀 Let's leverage the positive of AI to supercharge the fight for a more regenerative future. • Achieving net zero will require removing up to 10 gigatons of CO2e annually –about 20% of global emissions today.  As 2025 approaches, here's an exciting update to help drive progress: Building the needed emissions removal capacity is a monumental task, requiring investments in carbon removal technologies to scale from $5–13B annually to an estimated $2 trillion (!) by 2050. The voluntary carbon market (#VCM) will play a pivotal role, with the potential to generate $50B in financing by 2030. However, inefficiencies and recent controversies have slowed its growth. Welcoming Riverse to the Climate Collective! Enter +Riverse, founded in 2021 by Ludovic Chatoux, Grégoire Guirauden, and Clément Georget. Riverse is a carbon crediting platform that helps bring high-integrity credits from engineered carbon mitigation projects to market, bridging the gap between project developers and buyers. By emphasizing transparency and trust, Riverse accelerates the adoption of impactful climate solutions while building confidence in the voluntary carbon market. As Ludo, CEO of Riverse, notes: "Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a circular and sustainable society by restoring trust in the VCM. This market is a fantastic tool to channel funding to where it's most needed, yet it has been plagued by negative headlines and inefficiencies. At Riverse, we're committed to building a system of transparency and integrity to unlock the true potential of the VCM and drive meaningful climate action." How Riverse stands out: 🔍 Proven impact: Riverse combines technical and market expertise to help ensure projects deliver measurable environmental and social benefits. Riverse has helped 50+ project developers certify projects and 15+ sales partners market trustworthy credits, all while incorporating feedback from hundreds of experts via consultations to create accessible, robust standards for the VCM. 🏅 ICROA-endorsed: Riverse is one of only 12 organizations globally to receive ICROA accreditation and is the first of those dozen to include a focus on circular economy projects. Fully endorsed under ICROA’s new 2023 assessment procedure, Riverse’s recognition highlights the scientific rigor and transparency of the Riverse Standard, providing buyers with confidence that their credits align with their goals and drive measurable ROI. 🌍 Rigorous, data-driven certifications: By integrating ISO 14064-2-compliant methodologies with primary field data and advanced monitoring (including up to 30 data points per project), Riverse promotes precise, auditable measurements of avoided and removed emissions. Their platform is also designed to adapt to and support diverse technologies, enabling tailored, accurate credit calculations that evolve as fast as innovation and science do. We look forward to seeing Riverse unlock more capital for emissions mitigation projects and catalyze innovation. 🌱 Please join us in welcoming Riverse to the Climate Collective!
