Last week, Amity Foundation hosted a convening with partners in the Department of Labor Growth Opportunities project! Participants shared how this project has helped them gain workforce training and build a better life for themselves as they re-enter the community. Ferre's personal story of resilience as she worked to achieve her goals is an inspiring example of why we must invest in building up our community; so that everyone has the opportunity to lead a safe and fulfilling life.

#BlackHistoryMonth is an important time to honor those in the past and present who have left their mark on us. Today, Allen Richards, VP of ECM Services, honors a mentor who taught him that our mistakes don't define who we are and that everyone deserves a second chance.
-
As #BlackHistoryMonth begins, we wanted to share this message from Amity Foundation President & CEO, Doug Bond. 📜 As an organization dedicated to fostering change, we are committed to taking meaningful steps to learn, teach, & remember Black history every single day.

They're runners, they're track stars 🏃♂️ 🏃♂️ Ozzie Terriquez & Cesar Quijano from our Vista Ranch campus completed the Anza Borrego Cuyamaca 50-mile race last week! Running has become a community activity for faculty and students alike at Vista Ranch. Last summer, a few faculty and students ran the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon, and this year Ozzie is preparing for the upcoming SD100 mile race that Cesar completed last year! We're excited to cheer them on as they challenge their endurance and explore new terrains. Listen to Cesar share how running has supported his reentry on LAist ! https://lnkd.in/eX-SvUnd
