Between 2017 and 2023, 665 fatal crashes occurred on North Dakota roads. The majority were linked to driver behaviors like speeding, distraction, aggression, fatigue, or impairment. The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is committed to reducing this number to zero—but achieving this goal requires a collective effort. Safer driving habits and public accountability are key to ending fatal crashes. To support the Vision Zero initiative and raise awareness, NDDOT partnered with AASHTOWare Safety powered by Numetric to launch the Vision Zero public dashboard, offering a transparent way to track progress toward this critical goal. If your agency is working toward Vision Zero, discover how NDDOT is making progress: https://hubs.la/Q0359Wdb0 #AASHTOWareSafety

Join us in celebrating Black History Month, a time to commemorate the many impacts of Black inventors and engineers on the transportation industry. This year, we’re celebrating the life and legacy of Garrett Morgan, who invented the three-way traffic signal and a safety hood that played a key role in a 1916 rescue mission after a tunnel explosion in Cleveland, Ohio. Morgan was also a community leader who served as treasurer for an early iteration of the NAACP.
