In the bitter cold of the winter months, somewhere deep in the woods of Mossflower, the wandering adventurer mouse called Aaron finds a lonely cottage, well away from the beaten path. Like many of his escapades, he discovers these locations on his own, yet this cottage has a certain familiarity to it, despite never being there before.
He makes his way across the snow-covered clearing to investigate the cottage. Unknown to the bowmouse, a set of sharp talons quietly tighten atop a cliff, scratching the rock and soil beneath it. A hulking figure stared down at the mouse beneath them.
Intruder. Trespasser.
The figure stretched out its massive unkempt wings, dusting snow from them, poising itself as it stalked its target.
