You are a soul bound to a sword, having been discarded after being considered useless, you now make a treacherous journey to prove your worth to your creator at the top as the ultimate weapon.
Game Design Document: Game Design Document for Forgotten Soulsword
Accessibility Controls:
Press and hold both "LEFT" and "RIGHT" keys for 3 seconds to create a checkpoint Press "DOWN" to teleport to last checkpoint placed
Normal Controls:
Press and hold "UP" to charge your jump
Release "UP" to launch yourself
Release "UP" while holding down "LEFT" or "RIGHT" to launch yourself in those directions
Bow Controls:
Press and hold "UP" while in mid-air to activate the bow
Release "UP" after bow is activated, to launch yourself in that direction
Press "UP" again after arrow hits a wall to revert to sword form

Very fun game and great pixel art! It is very challenging to master the physics which is welcome! Thank you for putting the user determined check points because that has saaaaved meee. Great job on the visual language on the levels. I could easily tell what was a place the sword wouldn't land etc etc.

First thing that caught my attention was the gorgeous artstyule. So clean, so simple yet so pretty.
At the start the controls were a bit confusing, but I got a hang of the quickly.
Loved the bow mechanic. It is a clever twist on the "jump king - style" mechanics that gives them a whole new dimension.

This game is honestly a lot of fun! It has the potential to be insanely frustrating, but the checkpoint mechanic really ameliorated that issue. The game starts off fairly challenging at first and doesn't let up, and acquiring the bow adds a new dimension to player movement that opens up interesting possibilities. I would recommend adding fast falling as a mechanic to shorten the time inbetween falls, but aside from that the game feels quite polished for being made in such a short time. Well done!

I would also recommend making it so that you can go back to a checkpoint while falling, instead of having to wait for a long fall to complete.
