Shuffle or repeat songs in Music on Mac
Once a song is playing, you can shuffle songs in a playlist or album (play them in random order) or repeat songs.

Ask Siri. Say something like: “Shuffle music.” Learn more about Siri.
In the Music app
on your Mac, click any option under Library in the sidebar.
Play a song or playlist in your music library by double-clicking it, or selecting it and clicking the Play button
(or using the Touch Bar).
Do any of the following:
Turn shuffle on: Click the Shuffle button
.
When Shuffle is on, the button appears blue
and music plays in random order.
Shuffle albums or groupings: Choose Controls > Shuffle > Albums (or Groupings). Music plays the songs in the order they appear in the album or in the grouping, and then chooses another album or grouping at random.
Shuffle the songs in an album: Click the More button
, then choose Shuffle [album name].
Repeat all songs in the current view (for example, a playlist): Click the Repeat button
. Repeat is on when the button appears blue
.
Repeat the currently playing song: Click the Repeat button until the number 1 appears
.
Turn repeat off: Click the Repeat button until the button is gray
.
