NOTE: This game was done in a month for the Ace Jam 2025.
Vance and Carmelo, 2 friends who have lived in the city of Calida—capital city of the region of Dracaena, where dragons come from—since their birth have recently started dating.
Unfortunately, Carmelo’s family doesn’t approve of Vance due to old family traditions as well as the unspoken "rules" of Dracaena. To make matters worse, Vance is discriminated against for being a hybrid and not a “pure” dragon.
Will these lovers be able to escape? Or are they doomed to be separated?

A beautiful story that quickly grabbed me and made me feel for these two lovers! Their relationship seems truly so sweet, and I loved to see it!
The art is gorgeous, from sprites to CGs, everyone did an amazing job!
I would love to someday learn more about Orla and her wife, after all, I'm so weak for mother characters and Orla was an absolute delight!!

Going to fight for these cuties WITH EVERY INCH OF MY LIFE! This was a very cute game, and I think when touches on the very serious topics of discrimination and homophobic, as well as acephobia, it does it well.
Carmelo and Vance's love IS SO SWEET AND TENDER! I love how protective they are of each other, and how they stand up for one another when the other can't or won't (i.e. Carmelo towards Angar and his siblings when they're hurling racist insults at Vance, and Vance with Carmelo's homophobic father). They balance each other well, and act as not only an anchor for one another, but a warm blanket of comfort when needed.
I felt for Vance in particular because there doesn't seem to be another Dragon-Wyvern in Calida that they can relate to or connect with about their experiences. So in that sense, they're alone (and yes, while they may have Carmelo, he will never truly understand what it's like to be in their shoes). Seeing them tell Carmelo that it doesn't matter what others have to say broke me because it shows they've resigned to the fact that this is normal. If you ever do expand on their story, I would love to see Vance meet another mixed race character!

It makes me happy that you liked Vance so much!! Yes, sadly they had resigned themself to the belief that "being insulted for their mixed race is normal", which is why Carmelo gets sad/angry. Carmelo can tell Vance actually doesn't want people to be assholes to him. Unfortunately, dragons are a very proud race and a majority of them believe in this "pure blood" bullcrap 🥲.
And yee, I wanted these two to balance each other out and protect each other from things that hurt them (Carmelo protecting Vance from racist assholes and Vance protecting Carmelo from his abusive father), just like you said!
I definitely plan to expand a bit on their story since many characters from the Essentia universe will appear again in other stories! And I think it'd would be amazing for Vance to meet another mixed race character 🥰

Sadly, that happens with Renpy and I think there's no way to fix it 😭 but I'll look into it to see if I have a workaround for it. Thank you for letting me know!The transparent thing happens if you click too fast or if you press the skip button; it's because of the transitions.
