Pretty build, but quite a few loose screws, possibly connected to the travel around the world and the fact that the plates are fixed only after adding the switches. I propose a small notice og guide, setup guide or similar. Thx

Thank you, the order went very quick. The packaging is very cool.

Items were delivered quickly and was provided updates for every step of the process. Items also were packaged securely without any issues.

Kit was easy to put together with just a basic soldering station. Main confusion would be around flashing the firmware onto the boards as it changes depending on the board you have purchased.

Was a fun build and will probably get a few more kits to play around with in the future.

This keyboard works great. Its assembled well, feels great to use. Its default firmware also works with VIA, which allows for great easy basic modifications. The materials are extremely well built, and feels great to type on. The included firmware for the OLED screens are also nice for debugging and figuring out what you are typing, and if there are any issues with your key presses.

The only downside (which is minor, despite the following long winded paragraph), is that the default firmware only gives the user 4 layers to utilize. If you want 5 or more as I did (for things like different default layers), it becomes much more challenging than changing the config with VIA. You instead have to figure out how to compile QMK and write / find a custom config that meets your needs. Not a big deal, as this keyboard caters to all of the nerds out there who don't mind doing this. But I do wish the default firmware allowed for adding more layers so I could just use VIA/ QMK Configurator. I come from using a preonic keyboard, so I wasn't used to configuring QMK before and simply just used QMK configurator.

Oh, and the screws on the bottom plate keep coming loose when I move the keyboard too much. I wish the tolerances were a liiiittle tighter so they didn't come out so easily.

Overall, excluding some minor gripes, a great keyboard!

I don't live in Australia, so from the moment the item was shipped (very quickly), until I got to the point of installing it (right now), about 3 months have passed...

Tip: 5.5mm hex socket driver that is narrow enough to go through the keyboard's mounting screws holes are not easy to find in some countries.

Replacing the older board with this one seemed to be trivial at first but then I noticed that my keyboard only has 8 connectors in one of the cables, whereas as the board's has 12 (see attached photo)... so, should I connect my cable to the right or to the left?

I gambled on the left and, when I connected it to my laptop (via USB), its plug-and-play automatically identified it and configured Windows (10) for it. But... when I started typing letters (a, s, d, f, etc.), only spaces and tabs resulted in the editor.

I then had the hunch of "maybe I need to reboot or power off my laptop completely"... I turned off my laptop, waited a few seconds, powered it on and, sure enough, my IBM Model M keyboard works beautifully over USB.

Ambients Silent Linear Nocturnal Choc Switches

The kit was great, and easy enough to build.

The linked instructions in GitHub were a little confusing in places however - particularly the section around attaching the display. If the instructions are followed and the display is soldered to the board, you can't easily swap out the controller when using the recommended headers.

I found though that soldering the display to the headers, and just friction plus the plexiglass display protector were enough to hold it in place without solder.

Additionally, the flashing instructions on the GitHub don't quite apply, depending on which controller is used

Some brief additional build notes could make this process a bunch easier

Replaced the stock Choc Browns that came with my ZSA Voyager. The actual tactile bump in a low profile switch is so much nicer than the Browns! Would highly recommend!
