oh boy, it's so hard to pinpoint where the problem may be... haha.
I'm also using a USB audio interface but I have no issues.
I have a different problem though, I get extremely crackly audio when using Chrome (this happens with any WebGL build on itch.io) but my audio is completely fine in Firefox...

I know for sure FMOD and WebGL don't like to play nice and take a little more setup that I was unaware of when creating the original build that's currently up for Gustavo's Nightmare. I have Unity audio disabled in engine so I'm assuming it shouldn't have to do w/ Unity but I wouldn't completely rule it out yet...
This is all still a bit of a knowledge gap for me but I'm experimenting with different build settings and scouring forums to try and find some answers haha wish me luck!!

Thanks for playing! :D

Glad you enjoyed :D
Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! Interestinggg, what's the issue specifically? By chance, is it crackling audio?
Yep 2022.3.44f1. Using FMOD for our audio though.
In the past couple days I've learnt a lot about the difficulties of using FMOD for WebGL builds.
I may be able to make some changes to rectify the problem (if it is indeed the crackling issue) in an updated build coming after the rating period is over.
Thanks for letting us know!

No need to apologize!
No worries at all :)

Glad you enjoyed the direction of artstyle. Thanks for playing!

hahaha it gets everyone the first time!

Thanks for playing :D

Oh no, sounds like something went wrong! We have completely custom audio in our game from our sound designer/composer. Maybe double check your computer’s sound settings or try another browser?

Either way, thanks for playing!

This is super creative and unique, well done on your entry!

I really enjoyed the gameplay, it was a focused idea and executed well.
Thank you for the option to skip the auto-submit and press W to progress the dialogue, I appreciate that control and player agency over the gameplay!
It was really fun trying to manage the eyes, breathing and still read through the dialogue.
Well done on the art style, it's great! The dialogue is funny and engaging.

Great work overall! :D

Well done on your entry! :)

I really enjoyed the feeling of figuring out what items I needed to progress to each area.
Felt like a puzzle game in that sense.

I like the art style and think its implemented really well! Good job on the cutscenes too!
I think a little more attention to sound design could really enhance the overall experience.

Overall a really great job, well done! :D

(1 edit)

This is a superb entry and a hidden gem!! Great execution of your ideas :D

Loved the way you tied in the theme to your game, very unique and creative.
Music/sound design are great and fit really well with the art style/overall aesthetic, well done on that!

The game design is fantastic. I love that the upgrades matter in an impactful way in moment-to-moment gameplay. I had a lot of fun with the glass cannon upgrade hahaha. Great job on giving the player the control to spec into their own play style!

Overall a really great entry and solid work by everyone, well done! :D

Well done on your entry!
The camera zoom in when inspecting the bugs caught me off-guard, that was super smooth and a well implemented detail. Nice touch!
I enjoyed the overall vibe of the game and could see the vision of things going from super calm/serene to more hectic/stormy haha.

Good job with this. Congrats! :D

This is really cool! Super fun gameplay and I can really see your vision of this being similar to Vampire Survivors but with an emphasis on defensive gameplay.
I loved that all the upgrades/items made a meaningful impact on gameplay which gave me things to think about and strategic decisions to make.

With a bit more polish time, things like audio can help add some more feedback but understandable that this wasn't prioritized as we only had a week!

This is a strong showcase of your game design skills/knowledge.
This is a really great entry and a fun game, well done! :D

Super fun to play through this, great work on your entry!!
I really enjoyed all of the gameplay, the mini-games were fun/satisfying to complete and the crab phases were super fun too. I enjoyed the upgrade system and gameplay loop, it all came together really well :D

The art is awesome! Great work on that :)
A few of the SFX got a little annoying but most notably the digging sound effect.
Maybe a little variety on the sound effect (an array of a few variations) and some variable pitch/volume could help out with that.

Other than that this was really fun, I had a great time, good job! :D

Great work on your entry! :D
The overall vision and gameplay is fantastic and this is such a solid foundation for a game!

I just have one little piece of feedback from my playthrough: I noticed that the stats didn’t really seem to make a big difference. It felt like my choices didn’t matter much since I could take down enemies pretty easily, no matter my stats. Maybe if the enemies were a bit more challenging and the difficulty ramped up as you go, it would make the stats feel more impactful and add some nice depth to the gameplay.

Other than that this is a great entry and a job well done! Congrats :D

Great work on this! Love the art/sound style - it's super cohesive and achieves that scrappy/silly vibe.
Maybe when you fail, the outlaw(s) you didn't find could be clearly highlighted to show you where they were in the scene.
This has potential to be built upon, good job! :D

Had a great time playing through this!!
Loved the humor throughout :)
Fantastic work on the overall feel/vibe of the game. Art, audio, dialogue is all fantastic.

My only minor feedback is that at times it did feel like there was only one solution to a given problem and I needed to just trial/error until I found the intended solution. This just took away the feeling of player agency. Maybe there were multiple ways of solving things but it never felt that way, hope that makes sense.

Otherwise it was still SUPER fun to play through and get to the end, well done on your entry! :D

Great work on your entry!
Loved the puzzling nature of the gameplay and found myself trying to 3 star each level to see if I could do it.
Super fun to play through, well done :D

Thanks for checking it out on stream!

Thanks! We're happy with how that transition turned out.
Thanks for checking it out :D

ahaha that bear gets everyone the first time!
Thanks for playing :D

Thanks for playing it on stream!
Was great to see your impressions live :D

Thanks for taking the time to check it out!

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback! :D
Funnily enough that was always the plan, just didn't get that feature over the line in time.
We will have it in the post-jam build :)

This was our first ever game jam and first ever game. Would love to get your thoughts!!

Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for the feedback! Glad to see you appreciate a lot of the details and design choices :D

haha true! In the end it is pretty much a test of your kiting skills. Thanks for playing :D

Thanks for playing and taking the time to leave feedback! Cheers :D

5/5 for the theme bahahaha
flappy bird vibez

Really enjoyed the gameplay of this! Very relaxing and satisfying.
Only feedback is I wish things progressed a bit quicker.
I grew tired of things at around level 32 and didn't find the storm threatening enough.
Not sure if I missed anything to come after that point but nonetheless enjoyed my time with Astral Storm.

Well done :D

Super cool gameplay! Really enjoyed the upgrade system.
Game was well designed and I felt like my choices really mattered in moment to moment gameplay.
This game has potential for some super cool sound effects, would be good to hear that!

Well done :D

Would love to get your feedback on our game!

Thanks! :D

Art and sound are very amazing! First playthrough I felt stressed because of the ticking clock and I could not remember recipes, but second run through I was able to appreciate the game. Well done!

Great work on your entry!
Well done on the visuals and music, it's super cohesive and looks/feels great :D

Really enjoyed playing through this! Well done building a cute little world here with a story to drive the gameplay.
The art and music are great! Loved the dynamic audio transition for when you are seen, just wish it also transitioned back to the calm music when you lose their attention.
The various mechanics were excellent, loved the smoke bombs and ladders to give you a greater perspective to find the citizens you needed to talk with.

Great job all round!
-plz no war hahaha

Can see the vision here! Hopefully you have time to expand upon the project and flesh things out.
Well done on the wind mechanic, that was unique :)

I really enjoyed wrestling with the controls as a mechanic!
I liked how things got progressively more difficult and you hard to start making strategic choices when to take hits from things in order to get through the level.
Nice work! :D

Great take on the theme!!
Got a bit hung up on that towel/cloth looking object for a bit but figured things out once I realized you could go through the doors.
Well done :)
