I was playing on the desktop version with a keyboard. The "Yu're dead" text was shown after I died and it was on the second boss. When I had the bug, I saw in the menu that I still had the double jump upgrade. Hopefully this helps!

ok I solved the bug. It's an absurd thing related to the screenshake. now it's solved but if with this version that I can't update until the end of the jam it happens again just wait about 10 minutes and it'll be back on its own ahhahahaha
