How does your game fit the theme?
Saving your lost Pheonix Chick before the raging storm snuffs them out. You play as a traveler racing across the land to try and reach your companion before the rain reaches them.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote the code myself, with use of tutorials and such. The SFX and background music are royalty-free assets from https://pixabay.com and the stunning block textures are made by Octoshrimpy.

I love the ambience of this game! All I would recommend is to try and differentiate the foreground and the background tiles a bit more, as sometimes I was confused on whether or not I could jump on a specific tile. Other than that, the character felt clean to control and I had fun!

Amazing game! It was really fun and the graphics were really good and i loved the wind pushing you back too, great job!

Really fun platformer with a nice atmosphere! The wind mechanic adds a cool challenge, but it can feel a bit frustrating, especially with the moving platforms. The art and music are great, and I loved the responsive controls. Some checkpoints and tweaks to the platform size would make the experience smoother. Overall, it's a solid game with some fun, Celeste-like moments. Keep up the great work!

Jumping around was fun! I enjoyed the level design for the most part, and I had a good time.

I would have liked to have slower moving platforms, or no wind, because those two conflicted quite a bit, but it was nice nonetheless.

Good job!

Very fun platform, the wind builds up and so do your abilities to meet the new challenges. I like the tutorial text in the background, but often it was misplaced and out of view so i couldnt fully read it all

The level dessign is good and there are a lot of fun jumps to do

The keys you assigned for controls should be closer together, shift and space are far apart and difficult to use together on some keyboards, try a combination of keys closer to each other

Yea, that was awesome. Loved the artwork and ambience. Super well done! I wish my art looked as good as this!

EDIT: Some notes, I had trouble with screen resolution as well as jumping occasionally wouldn't go through (maybe there was a minimum timer on being able to use your double jump after your jump?). I also encountered a bug where if you dashed on the ground you would run super fast. Honestly, this could be a feature instead of a bug lol

Developer(+1)

Ye found it out on the last day but it was lo-key kinda cool

The character is pretty cute and the level is HARDER than i thought it would be lol

I loved the player character! I agree with some of the other commenters that the moving platforms were super unfair feeling. But otherwise it was amazing!

Submitted(+1)

Very responsive controls, I enjoyed it a lot. The enviroment was beautiful. I will say that the wind was a little bit annoying (Mostly at the part with the moving platforms) but I enjoyed the game a lot.

This was a fun platformer. I like the ramping up of the difficulty and the wind added some extra challenge. You created a nice ambience with the music and art you picked for the game as well. I'd echo people's comments about adding coyote time and checkpoints. I'd also add a fullscreen button, I wasn't able to fit the full game on my monitor so I had to scroll up and down at times to see parts of the screen. I also managed to get stuck in the wall in the little hole that the super fast moving platform goes into on the level where you get your dash, the platform pushed me into the wall and I had to restart the game to keep playing. Overall I had a fun time playing thru this, great job!

Developer

Thanks, I've been wondering with the screen resolution do you know what a good built-in res for the game is as I cant resize in itch or will the game screen anchor to the bottom-left of the PC screen, so don't really know how to fix it.

Submitted

I usually set my games to 1280x720 and have a fullscreen button for people that want to use it. Honestly I think having a fullscreen button is the most important part, then if the resolution you picked is a problem on someone's monitor they can just fullscreen it and fix the problem.

Developer

Aight ,I tried fullscreen but it doesnt anchor the game screen so you can click any buttons

Very much liked the game. The wind blowing me back made me think of the levels almost at the top of the mountain in Celeste, or atleast that's how I remember them.

Very fun, good stuff!

Developer

Yep very much inspired by those celeste levels, love that game

Really cool game! I loved the art, and the music kept me immersed. I also liked how you introduced the mechanics. It was a bit challenging for me though, some checkpoints would’ve been great. But overall, I really enjoyed playing it. Great job!

The atmosphere is nice and the controls are tight. The game would benefit of having coyote jump and longer jumps I think. And more generous checkpoints maybe. Congrats!

Submitted

Very nice. The constant wind brought some real challenge :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks dude, really appreciate you playing and rating my game. Just need to get past those 20 ratings (fingers crossed)

Nice game, looks super nice too, very ambiant, I like it. The movement of the player is smooth. I couldn’t finish the game because the camera wasn’t stuck at a certain height and I had no idea where to go. The moving platforms feel a bit cluncky to be on, especially with the wind, making them slightly wider to stand on would be nice and also smoother movement of the platforms. Having more interactivity would have made this platformer even more interesting, like having the chained platforms go down when the player stand on it. Finally, the graphics of this game would have been pushed even more if there was some animations for the fire, water, etc.

Overall it was a fun Celeste like game

Developer

Thanks soo much, also just wanted to know what level was the camera stuck?

Submitted

3 or 4 one? The one with red trees that’s right after the level with the moving platforms, idk if it was a browser issue but I couldnt see the ground and at some point just ran out of platforms to go (where the camera stops moving)

Developer

Oh, the next level is in between the two tree thickets, you just have to fall in between them.

The sound design and atmosphere is really nice! I couldn't make it past the double jump part, but the parts I could get through were fun.

Great going. Got me playing very quickly with the on screen guide.
Nice unique mechanic with the wind blowing you back, adding to extra complexity.

Very quick die and respawn set up, which helped a lot with continuing through the levels.
I even figured out your cunning drop then jump trick to get past one of the barriers,

But the slidey platforms was where my skills at these games met their end :P. Managed the first 2, but the next one was to much for me :D

Thanks for making this game! It was enjoyable to play! Well done

Nice game! It features pleasant calm music and sound effects. It's quite challenging but forgiving with checkpoints. However, I couldn't get past the double jump level—I tried about 50 times and only made it past the first double jump spot once. Overall, great job on your first game jam!

Submitted(+1)
