It has a lot of promise. I liked the kitchen building phase, which is impressive to implement in the duration of a jam, the graphics were pretty cool, and the controls felt good. Unfortunately it is very hard to figure out how to play, and it is a problem I've seen with similar Overcooked-like games in this jam. Maybe this genre needs more tutorialisation than you'd assume. But apart from my criticism, I think it was pretty cool

Developer(+1)

I am glad you liked those things! And I definitely agree. I was planning on doing a tutorial of sorts that was not just keybinds, but I ran out of time. I'd love to add it when the gamejam is over though!

This was really fun! I enjoyed the fast gameplay and tried my best pre-preparing meals to not be overwhelmed by the customer amount… Good job! I enjoyed it!

Really cool concept! I think it can definitely be built upon more, I would've loved if there was some kind of piece where I could store the food, because at a certain point it became pretty much impossible to get all the orders with my inventory space. I definitely felt the theme too lol, that got pretty hectic pretty fast.
I wish there was something in the map building phase that told me where the customers actually appeared, at first I thought  they'd walk up to the counter, and also think there should be a reason as to just not stack everything the closes the where the customers are.
The art is really nice, I really like the models for the things you use and the drawings for the customers, it's really cute!
Great job overall!

Glad you think it is cool! And I agree that that is a problem, maybe a tile where you could store things could help yeah :0, or more inventory space would help too? I'll think about it :D!

That is also a really good idea actually! A marker would be really useful for the first round. And I see what you mean with just putting tiles next to the clients. I need to think about how it could be fixed though, because I could make it so further tiles do something positive, but I feel like that would be too "specific", and not too clever, if I am expressing myself properly. So yeah, definitely need time to think on how to fix it.

Glad you enjoyed the art and models though! And thanks :]!

Maybe some longer tiles that serve like some sort of automation could incentivize not putting everything in the front. Like if something is big or long but can make a specific type of food for you and leave it at the end, that could kill 2 birds with 1 stone with the storage problem.

Like a long conveyor belt that's like 5 tiles long and makes fish burgers for example. You have to put the fish and bread on one end and then it leaves a burger on the other, that would make some more interesting personalized building of things I'd think!

Hope that helps if you plan on continuing the game, and good luck if you do!

A really interesting combination of building out your kitchen in a 2d grid and seeing it come to life in 3d, that's really awesome. The mechanics of serving customers in 3d worked very well too. Really nice job on this!

Easy 5 stars on innovation. it's super cool being able to build your own kitchen, then actually use that kitchen in-game. The game itself is super hard though lol, probably even harder than Overcooked with several friends. i would probably list what ingredients you need on the ingredient card in front of the customer, but that's just me

i also love how a dog can be one of the customers, only asking for a dog treat lol

Developer

Thank you!!! I am glad you think its a cool concept :D! And I agree, yeah. I had a hard time balancing some things, and a "difficulty" option would have been ideal. And that is a great idea! Maybe as a hover as to not obstruct too much screen space without the player asking for it? I'd love to add that when the jam is over!

And am glad someone mentioned that bit lol, I loved the idea when I came up with it :>

I really enjoyed this game. it's pretty fun to play.
Maybe a bit on the start menu since it doesn't have any sound I thought it was freezing. some highlights on UI would be great too.
Still, great job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Glad you enjoyed it!

And I agree, some indicators in the main menu to signal the game is running and some highlights would be good. I'll see if I add them once the jam is over!

Love the art style and the music especially. It was so stressful completing all the orders in such a good way. So much fun!

The art style is so cute, I love it! Had an awesome time with this one, nice work :)

I absolutely adored the artwork; it's a fun and immersive game that pulls you right into its world. The mechanics are charming, and the gameplay feels smooth and effortless. It’s a delightful experience from start to finish

This is such a fun game! Ahh! Great job:) I loved being able to build a kitchen that was admittedly really poorly built (i am not smart)

Developer

Thanks for the kind words :D! I am glad you enjoyed it!

(And that's a mood, truth be told)

I was really impressed when the building phase turned into a full 3D kitchen, awesome job!  I had expected the whole game to play in that 2D style and it was a great surprise for it to transition.  I really liked the art style in both halves.  You have great feedback when looking at objects so the player knows what they're selecting, I liked the inclusion of the mini game when cooking, and I felt overwhelmed when all the customers started showing up which feels great for the theme.

The only piece of feedback I'd leave is I wish there were button prompts in game to help teach the player how to play.  You've got the great highlight feedback when looking at objects, if you can get a piece of UI in there saying something like "Press X to Y" when the highlight effect is happening you're golden.

Awesome job!

I am glad you liked the art styles!! And I am glad it is good feedback, for a moment I questioned myself on whether it was too intrusive. I am also glad that the customers did their purpose correctly then!

And I completely agree! I'd love to add that when the game jam is over.

Thanks for the feedback!!

Interesting to allow the player to build the kitchen, the two phases go well with the theme. I had trouble playing because my keyboard is not qwerty, but it was quite interesting !

Developer

I am glad they fit the theme!
And I'd be really interested in seeing what keybinds would fit for your keyboard. I'd love to add support for that :D!

I like this feature that you can build your own kitchen, customers are well drawn!

Developer

I am glad you liked it, and I am glad you liked the way the customers are drawn!

Great game, i really like how you can build your own kitchen and how it interacts with the rest of the game (the layout and how tiles can change customer behaviour).

The grafics were really nice and i liked the contrast between the calm and frantic gameplay.

Developer

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed what the game had to offer!
