I like the pixel art in this, the game mechanics are fine and I really like the overal feel of the game, I hope you can continue working on the game after the jam is over, I rate graphics, control and fun on top but really all is cool, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!
Thank you. I also tried your game. It's really cool
I had a lot of fun with this game, the concept is simple but it works very well
i liked the art style a lot and the idea of the attack also working as a dodge let room for expression
Great submission!
Thank you. Sometimes less is more, keeping it simple give a lot of freedom to the player and make it eassy to learn.
Really cool. I love the idea of the attack also functioning as a dodge. Also really nice and consistent graphics. Glad I found this one!
Thank you
Cool game!
A good idea with some kind of coliseum where you fight against bosses over and over again. Quite simple and nice graphics and animation, nice movement. Good ability of opponents. In general, all aspects of the game are at the same good level.
Thank you, I just wanted to keep it simple.
Im sorry for what happened to your game, i hope you can upload it again soon
Hah, no need to worry. It’s a pity, of course, that I won’t be able to let others play until the end of the jam, but right after it I’ll be able to return it back.
As for the simplicity, it really worked out, it feels in such a minimalist style or something
I really liked the strategic component of having to learn the mechanics of the bosses to know the precise moment to attack (at the beginning, I tried to go fast and died many times xD). It's a hard game since you only have one life, but it's fun. The bosses' attacks are varied and interesting, and the fact that the enemies appear in a random order adds a lot of variability to the game. I really liked the music; it reminds me of some RPGs I've played during the moments when you have to fight! Greetings!!!!
Thank you. I tried to make all go as ramdom as possible to add variety to the fights, so you don't really know exactly what will come next. That make you have to be more carefull before attack. I'm glad you liked my game
Yes, that’s exactly how I felt! The randomness feels really good!!
Like the music and the art but are you aware of that your page says you make this game for a game jam dated in 2024. :-)
Oops, I didn't realize, I still haven't gotten used to it being 2025, I'm not ready hehe. Thanks for saying it, I'll correct it now
Interesting little game! It's quite fun to use the attack (that doubles as a dash), and the bosses have a large array of attacks to dodge, plus the random factor makes them very unpredictable and fun.
One criticism I have is the bosses felt way less like bosses, and more like normal enemies most of the times. I like when bosses are not damage sponges, but here I think they could use a bit more health, and more "impact", I don't really know how to describe it.
And another thing, I noticed that some bosses didn't seem to attack me, at least actively (like Violence, who was for the most part floating around in the arena passively).
The goblin is cool😎
Ow man, thank you for the review, i'm really happy about you and people in general liked the game, but i'm sorry that I transmited you that sensations. And you have a very good point. I have made them that fragile with the idea of the player taking them out easily, the first 3/4 bosses are just an introducction so I wanted them to be easy to slay, but thats true they could feel t0o weak to be bosses.
About they beeing pasive, you are right, I haven't seen it before because I know every behavior that they have, but after seaching for that feeling I can understad it. And it's strange because every boss is going for the player except for herobrine, he is trying to get a good spot to shoot at you. And I see wendigos feels pasive, because they are too slow and they stop sometimes to rest (this boss needs a big improvement). Herobrine feels like he is running away from you, and that is exactly what he is doing, but I didn't wanted to make the player feel just that, I wanted to make them feel like he is seaching for a place to attack.
Thank you for the coment
Very cool game, I really liked the core idea! The visuals and voice acting lifted my mood! The only thing that’s a bit frustrating is that all attacks one-shot you—it could use a sort of "last chance" mechanic to escape a dead-end situation. But overall, a really good game! Great job!
Yeah... probably 3hp would have worked better than the one shot. Or maybe a death boss ; ) Thank you
Good game. Visually there are four bosses and they go through quickly, but then they repeat with new attacks, which is cool.
Thank you, that was the point, try to make the bosses the least predictable as posible
Fun game, I liked it. You could possibly add a shop to buy lives in the future, I think it would be interesting.
That is a really good idea, I will add it to the list
Very fun! I really like it!
Thank you
the archer comes out the gate shooting which is a bit rough, once you get into the later bosses it gets really fun though, i like the fast player speed, responsive.
Yeah, that was the idea, each boss is a little bit harder, making it easy to learn, and by the time you have learned to play the game starts to get harder. During the test I tried bosses level 20 or 30, that is really hard
You don't need to click the allow fullscreen by pressing a button or something when uploading. There are now two fullscreen buttonse one of which doesn't work as intended.
The game looks fine apart from the default ui. Wendigos were a little too easy. I would've also preferred if you didn't spin back after spinning forward. Like if I try to spin away from a laser and hit an enemy, I will bounce back to the laser and die. (that wasn't a hypothetical) Otherwise it was a fun game.
Thank you very much for the review and sorry for the mistake, I don't remember when was the last time I made a web game.
I'm proud that you liked the game, but it's true that the wendigo is an easy boss, it was the last boss I made and the idea I took as a base I haven't managed to make it work as well as I wanted, at least not to a very high level.
I'm sorry that you didn't like the bounce mechanic, but I differ on that, although it is true that it can cause that accident (I have suffered the same during de debugging a lot of times), it seemed to me that it gave greater depth to the game, making you have to have more control of when you decide to use it, in fact the appropriate thing would have been to calculate the bounce angle, but I was in a hurry and I'm quite bad with physics.
That was difficult, but man was that fun, idk why but I've never seen a game where the player is that fast. It felt so fun to be able to zoom around the bosses, also that attack is buttery smooth and so nice. Absolute 5/5 on controls.
I really like when you feel free in a game, so i wanted to make the player fast, feeling the same I decided to not add any timer or reload. Instead that is why every boss have an evasion ability
I agree with Massivez. I always died with just a few bosses killed. Other than my skill issue, I really liked the bosses and their names! Even the fabled brother of Notch was there!
Thankss. Well, bosses need names, and i didn't wanted to be to serious, so i tried to use them as jokes
One HP is brutal, I died every time to the humans. But the game is really fun! I also loved the sound of the bosses. Great job!
Thank youu. Yeah, maybe 1hp was too much. The human in teory it's a tribute to herobrine, from minecraft; is a hard boss, the only one that evades melee combat, it's hard to hit
Controls feel great, i like the shadows and small vfx too, fits the game! Wish there was more variety in player and boss movement and attacks though. Also dying after 1 hit feels a bit too punishing?
I would have liked to add more bosses and more variety, but it have been a hard month at work and I had like a week to make the game, soo I went a little fast. And yeah, is a little bit to much dying on 1 hit, because that can stop you from achieving a big score, 3hp would have been better. Thanks for playing my game
