Concerning games Do you mean Ludi? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludi Well if so I think it is pretty nice when rich people set the games :) But not Emperors, because Emperors do not spent on such Ludi they own money.They use money from the state treasury. Like Caligula did. But as a private person I hate masscares. I even don't like Chariot racing, because it is event where people and horses could easily die :C
