Goatthrone Audio brings you a new collection of nostalgic tunes for your video game projects. 

Hallways of our Youth brings you back to those formative school years: Remembering your friends. The thrill of your first kiss or meeting new, mysterious exchange students. Waiting for something to happen in those endless days of summer. Slow dancing with your special someone and having more time than you could ever spend. This asset pack encapsulates the feeling of remembering a time long gone, perhaps with rose tinted glasses but always with a bittersweet fondness. It has been years but we will never forget these Hallways of our Youth. 

Goatthrone Audio once again showcases his eclectic breadth of styles. With influences as diverse as Joe Hisaishi, Carlos Santana, Shigeki Sato and romantic classical music, you will be sure to find something to your liking. 

Hallways of our Youth consists of five unique tracks, two of which are available in alternate versions totalling almost 40 minutes of unique music. 

Track by Track Breakdown: 

Hallways of our Youth: A soft tune inspired by early 2000s anime music. Gentle strings meddle with simple synthesizer plugs and low fidelity percussion and that special kind of digital warble, like a relic from 20 years ago. 

Mysterious Girl: A trio for strings and piano showcasing the intrigue of meeting someone that clearly has more to them than it initially seems. Distinct harmonic minor harmony dances with poignant rhythms. Inspired by Ghibli Films and russian classical music. Available in an alternate music box version. 

First Kiss: Fingerstyle ukulele floats over a faux-orchestral soundscape. Long melodic arcs and buildups catch the anticipation of your first kiss and a feeling that can never be replicated. 

Slow Waltz (With You): Inspired by the piano works of conmtemporary minimalists, this tune is a gentle waltz for piano.  These bittersweet harmonies and subtle modulations will capture the feeling of dancing slowly, being close to your crush. Available in an alternate music box version. 

Counting the Days: Latin RnB mixes with the japanese obsession with brasilian music to present a track filled with longing for change. Waiting feels like an ordeal if change is what you want - maybe the end of school or the return of someone you´re dearly missing.

This asset pack was originally made for the Make Visual Novel Assets! Jam. As per the rules of the jam, it will be available for free until March 1st 2025.
