Install Windows
In the following a short description how to install Alias on Windows 10
Go to the Alias download area and download the Windows installer:
-
Start the downloaded executable by double click
-
Second screen will show the license information
-
Third screen gives some information regarding the steps the installer will perform
-
After this you need to select which components you want to install. The installer will detect, if there's existing Alias blockchain data and deactivate the Blockchain installation checkbox. If no blockchain data was found, the checkbox will be activated. But you have of course the final word! If you have existing blockchain data and activate the Blockchain checkbox, the installer will wipe out the existing data, download the latest bootstrap archive and install the blockchain again.
-
In the next step you can choose, which flavour of configuration you want to install:
-
The last screen before the installation let you choose where to install Alias. If you have already installed Alias with the installer before, the installer will detect the previous location and shows this as default.
-
If there's a previous installation, the installer will ask to remove it. This is necessary to wipe out potential old and no longer used files from the installation location.
-
Now the installation will start.
-
If previously activated, the bootstrap chain will be downloaded and extracted afterwards. If there's already a Bootstrap archive, you can choose to reuse it or download a new version.
The Bootstrap archive is created daily. If you downloaded it last time more than a day ago, you should download it again.
The download and extraction process should look like this:
-
If the installation is finished, the option to start the Alias wallet is activated by default.
