This has a few unfortunate differences from the official parser:

  1. Doesn't handle the "unbalanced parentheses" rule, because that
    would require an external scanner implementation (probably will happen
    someday!)
  2. Doesn't insert an implicit semicolon between the regex and the
    previous line. This is mostly fine but causes problems with the "Regex
    builder DSL".
  3. Doesn't match opening and closing # symbols in multiline regexes,
    for the same reason as point 1
