Shadow of Gehenna - A LANCER Homebrew Supplement
A downloadable game
Your steel-toed boots ring against the dusty floor as you wander the corridors of the ramshackle hab-zone of Eir Station. You pass by people in the hallways, their heads held stubbornly high despite the overwhelming bleakness of their surroundings. That checks out with what you were told - that the people of the Rings of Alberich are impossible to crack, a fact made all the more evident by your reason for being here.
There is a war out on the Rings. It’s just a few errant sparks now - a single station seized, some security detail MIA - but even the infamously bull-headed Locksteel leadership know that all it takes is a single well-placed spark to start a wildfire. A blaze that could threaten to engulf all in orbit of their barren planet.
That’s why you’re here... to stomp out those embers that would threaten to burn the house down.
In the centuries since freeing themselves from SecComm’s vice grip, Locksteel Inc. has kept their operations focused on the manufacturing and distribution of refined materials and mining frames. But things are about to take a turn for the worse; an Apex Renegades Co. colony ship made its way into the system, taking over a station by enlisting a PMC named Squadron 13 to serve as a proxy for their expansionist interests.
Outmatched by Squadron 13’s professionally trained pilots, outgunned by ARC’s superior technology and chassis, and far beyond the immediate reach of Union, the situation looks grim for Locksteel. Undeterred, unyielding, and determined to fight the peace-feigning ARC till the bitter end, Locksteel Inc. sends out a call for aid - hailing any and all lancers willing to fight back the encroaching tide of war.
And you may just be the shot in the arm the Rings of Alberich need to repel their foreign invaders. Time to punch up.
Shadow of Gehenna is a third-party supplement for Lancer, the mud-and-laser mech RPG by Massif Press. Within this supplement, you’ll find:
- 2 new manufacturers - the industrial Locksteel Inc., forced to defend themselves by any means against a superior invading force, and Apex Renegades Co., a corpro-state with a penchant for bleeding-edge tech and highly specialized chassis
- 12 new licenses from both manufacturers, which includes...
- ARC Angelo: a flying melee striker dishing out death from above
- ARC Futsunushi: a blademaster frame that slices through spacetime
- ARC Kali: an enigmatic assassin specializing in thrown weapons
- ARC Polemos: a vanguard that pushes deep into enemy frontlines
- ARC Sobek: a violent, bestial frame that revels in carnage
- ARC Tian Gong: a ‘heroic’ melee chassis boasting e-warfare capabilities
- Locksteel Colt: a simple, efficient mech designed for ease of use
- Locksteel Kalashnikov: a scrappy frame designed to win battles of attrition
- Locksteel Makarov: a supporter capable of jockeying enemy mechs
- Locksteel Mossberg: a defender generating MAG fields to protect itself and allies
- Locksteel Remington: a mech bristling with nearly more firepower than it can carry
- Locksteel Winchester: a nimble skirmisher that darts from cover to cover
- 3 new talent trees - Ocelot, for pilots who love to reload during a battle; Paragon, for pilots pushing their melee skills to the limit; and Headhunter, for those who are only in it for the cold, hard cash
- Creeping Shadows, a series of missions from LL3 to LL6. Set in the Vulkan-minoris system, pilots fight on behalf of Locksteel Inc. to repel Squadron 13 and their sponsor, the opportunistic Apex Renegades Co., while unraveling a conspiracy that may change the fate of the system forever.
Proximity warnings flash across your cockpit’s HUD as Squadron 13 mechs burst through the breach, scattering like hounds released from a cage. You bring your chassis to bear, locking and loading as targeting reticles flicker into place.
Time to ensure the darkness of war doesn’t cast its shadow over Gehenna.

hey, i wanted to just say i, relatively new to lancer.
i have been obsessed with this homebrew and feel like it fits into the core game so well.
i do have some things i have notice while i was showing it to my veteran friends and after trying them i wanted to share.
the head hunter talent seams to be way too strong the moment it gets to 2 as the bonus is very strong and it also lets you reaply the first ability.
the Friction Cleaver is not clear if it needs to be destroyed to go to its second profile.
a personal thing from me is that i think the Winchester ll1 and ll2 weapons should be flip because the license is not melee oriented and takeing a level in it feels like straying from its intended path.
i love this supplement and think you are doing a wonderful job with it!!!
keep up the good work
Hey, yeah thanks for the kind words. Also a lot of the content is in testing right now, so expect things like headhunter and the friction cleaver to get some change. as for the Winchester, generally the "less related" additions to a license come up first, generally, usually so people can dip a level in the license for it.
Is the rattlebone smg that comes with the Winchester license supposed to be a melee weapon or is that an error in the LCP?
I love the minimalist black & white layout for the frames. Any chance you publish a full pdf of these? Or even a form-fillable character sheet?
hi!! Artist and person who does the layouts n stuff for Gehenna here! There are plans for a full pdf release in the future containing all the mechs, talents, and campaign once we've figured out playtesting and balancing these parts
Awesome possum! Thank you for the reply. And again, I love your work on this layout! Congrats and keep up the great work!
Stunning art and design, amazing work Kara /Li!
