Christmas with Gus Gus
Made for Cozy Winter Jam 2025
Update: I'm thrilled that Christmas with Gus Gus got 13th place overall and 1st place for cozy winter vibes! I'm currently hard at work adding all the stuff I wasn't able to finish in time for the jam so I'll be releasing an update soon!
This was my first time doing a game jam! I worked my butt off all weekend. There was much more that I wanted to add but I spent so much time just drawing the environment that I ran out of time to implement much gameplay-wise, but I hope I was able to at least create a mood that resonates with people.
Gus Gus is based on my dog, whom I'm apart from since I live abroad.

solution for non mac user:
1. press f12 and html source code window pops up
2.
click on this arrow and scan the oversized image
(i am using firefox. google chrome maybe a little different. but you need to scan or search for it)
3.

change width and height to something like 3000
4. finished
Thank you so much! I'm gonna try troubleshooting it tonight with a friend who has a windows computer but this is a good workaround for now! Sorry for the trouble!

Unfortunately the game does not work :/
After the loading bar, part of an oversized image is displayed. But you can't get away from it.
I'm seeing the same issue. Shame because I was looking forward to the artstyle!

Thank you for your comment. I think I know the source of the problem... I added a line of code to make the game look sharp on Apple's 2x Retina Display devices, but it seems like it's not working on non-Apple devices and causing the entire game to be 2x in size. Unfortunately it's too late for this game jam but I'll fix it for a future release! If you want to try the game for now I think you have to use a Mac or iPad.
