Our founders heard the future coming

The year was 2002. No one had heard of music streaming. Listening all around the home meant cranking the volume or setting up a complex stack of hardware and running cables through every wall.

But by the beaches of Santa Barbara, California, four music-loving engineers recognized the potential of home networking and set out with a simple goal: Make it easy to play any song in any room.
