📢Stop Making New Year Resolutions!! As we step into 2025, you might already be drafting your New Year’s Resolutions list. You know the one - get healthier, lose weight, quit smoking,🚬 stop eating biscuits🍪🍪 like they're going out of fashion… But let’s be honest, New Year’s Resolutions often have the lifespan of a supermarket mince pie🥧 in December. By March (April if you’re really committed), they’re abandoned, gathering metaphorical dust like last year’s gym membership. Here’s the thing - you don’t need a resolution, you need a new beginning. And the best part? New beginnings can happen anytime. They don’t have to wait for January 1st or the stroke of midnight. A new beginning starts the moment you decide - whether it’s to cut back on carbs, get fitter, or finally tackle that ‘junk drawer’ of doom. That said, the New Year is a great time for a fresh start. But here’s a little twist - instead of thinking of your goal as a resolution (which feels a bit intense, doesn’t it?), think of it as being a rookie. Why? Because rookies start small. They make progress in bite-sized steps. For example, if your goal is to quit processed carbs, don’t go cold turkey🦃 (or cold biscuit tin). Start by cutting back - say, from eating an entire pack of biscuits in one sitting (no judgement here) to just a third. Then to a quarter, and eventually down to a solitary biscuit as an occasional treat. And who knows? One day, you might look at that biscuit and think, “Nah, I’m good.” Or you’ll dunk it in your tea with the smug satisfaction of knowing you’ve mastered moderation. Either way, you win. So, here’s to new beginnings in 2025 - whatever they look like for you. Start small, be kind to yourself, and remember - every rookie eventually becomes a pro. What’s your new beginning for 2025? Let me know below - I’d love to cheer you on! #NewBeginnings #GoodbyeResolutions #HelloRookieYear #2025Goals #ProgressNotPerfection

December. Gift lists, party plans, year-end deadlines swirling. The season where every ball in the air feels heavier. My dad shared wisdom years ago that resurfaces during these packed weeks: We're all juggling balls. Some rubber, some crystal. The rubber ones bounce back. The crystal ones? Those shatter. The crystal balls reveal themselves in simple moments: those mind-clearing, soul-feeding movements in nature, belly laughs with old friends where time stops, quick check-in texts with my kids (even if they just reply with an emoji), workouts that seemed impossible until they weren't. These are my crystal balls. The rest? They can bounce. 💞 What never leaves you with regret? Make that list. It might matter more than the gift lists right now. This season, catch what counts. ✨ What's on your never-regret list? #IntentionalLeadership #LeadershipWellbeing #ExecutiveLife #MindfulLeaders #PurposefulLiving

The comeback is always stronger than the setback I regularly run Parkrun on Saturday mornings, a routine that has become a much loved part of my week. Running amongst a group of strangers, I find a unique sense of connection. No one is chatting to me as I run (who on earth can even do that?!), but there's a quiet camaraderie that binds us. I feel connected to other runners, to nature, and to myself, especially when all I can do is concentrate on my breathing as I push up the last hill at kilometre four. Often, I see runners with the same slogan on their t-shirts: ‘The comeback is always stronger than the setback.’ Initially, it struck me as just another cheesy motivational quote, irrelevant when you're out of breath and desperate for the race to end. But recently, these words have taken on a new significance for me. I've experienced a rollercoaster of ups and downs over the past few years, both emotionally and physically. Navigating these difficult times, there were moments when I forgot what it felt like to be energised and excited about life. But as the months have rolled by this year, I’ve begun to feel more frequent glimmers of hope and joy. These feelings are different now; they’re richer, deeper. Because I’ve navigated such difficult times, my eyes have become a bit wider to the world around me. I feel like I can feel more, see more, absorb more. My senses have been enhanced. In a society that suggests pain and difficulty are to be avoided, we often miss the hidden value in these experiences. How can we grow and strengthen, physically, emotionally, psychologically, if we don’t have any setbacks? Reflecting on the past few years, I wouldn't change a thing. Without those challenging times, I wouldn’t be emerging into the person I am becoming now. I wouldn’t be open to the width and breadth of life that I am now experiencing. Yes, the setbacks suck—they are dark, heavy, and hard. We often think we’ll never make it through to the other side. But they are an important part of our process. If we can hold onto the knowledge that we will emerge stronger than before, it makes such times a little easier to bear. Photo by Jeremy Lapak on Unsplash

Can you believe it? It's the very last Monday of the year and 2024 is almost in the rearview mirror. As we wrap up the year, I want to take a moment to reflect—and help you do the same. This week, I created a carousel to guide you through some of the most important steps I take every year: ✅ Reflecting on what worked and what didn’t (lessons matter!) ✅ Celebrating the wins—big or small (surviving this year counts, right?) ✅ Setting SMART goals for the year ahead (goals that actually stick) ✅ Dreaming big and visualizing where you want to go ✅ Mapping out simple, actionable steps for Q1 Why? Because reflection and planning aren’t just for the sake of tradition—they’re tools that can literally transform your career and your life. So, if you’re ready to turn the page on 2024 and dive headfirst into 2025 with intention, go ahead and swipe. Let’s make 2025 the year you thrive—not just in this indsutry, but in life. Dream big. Set goals. Take action. You’ve got this.🫵🏽 #YearInReview #GoalSetting #PostProductionSound #NewYearGoals #ThriveIn2025 #MasteringPostProductionSound #SoundCommunity #PostSound
