For those following Wolfspeed's progress and news, you've probably heard that the company underwent layoffs last week, which affected a significant percentage of our workforce. While I'm grateful that I wasn't affected, my newsfeed has been inundated with colleagues who were, including three of my direct teammates. 6 years of rock & roll at Hostinger! 💥 Little did I know what a challenging yet rewarding journey awaited me down this road when I first met Giedrius Zakaitis. He took a chance on me, and thanks to him, I became part of Hostinger—a place that has opened countless doors for me in terms of opportunities and rapid growth. “What have you been doing at the same company for so long?” is a question I hear often from my peers. But for me, every OKR feels like a new season—filled with dynamic problem-solving, quick wins, and the freedom to make changes that lead to tremendous impact. If you can think it, you can do it. This trust and openness have been the key factors that have allowed me to reach where I am today. My most recent hire has already started experiencing the benefits of our speed and, most importantly, our mindset: “It’s great that we can release features quickly without fearing failure. Instead, we focus on what we’ll learn and how we’ll grow as specialists.” Couldn’t agree more! Here’s to me—and all the exciting things yet to come. 🥂 P.S. I'm scared about where the industry is at. I've had too many rugs pulled or had to leave before rugs were pulled at this point. It's broken me a little bit. One morning my email wasn't working, and I was like "oh, this is it, I'm fired." But thankfully I wasn't fired from Striking Distance Studios and it was just a tech issue. How messed up is that? None of us can afford to be comfortable right now, we need to help each other, and reach out, and spin up projects, and update our portfolios/resumes/profiles, because the truth is...the industry has shown that no matter how good things seem, you could be next. Sure, your game made millions of $$$$. But did it make enough millions? That's where we stand at this time. I'll admit, the stuff I'm doing at GameDevSG isn't just for you, it's also for me. I need to upskill, I need to network, I need people to keep me accountable as well. I've just come to the realization that at this point in time, things are so messed up that you basically need others to even make it anymore. Everyone does, no matter your seniority. It's Sunday and if you're reading this, you're likely head against the grindstone applying for jobs. I see you. What might help cap your day off, and prepare for the week ahead is to schedule and time block your diary. Try to balance it out between what you need for "work" and what you need for you. For some, that might mean alternating mornings and afternoons with work and development/fun stuff. For others it could be a sprint through the week with a "big" reward at the end. But make a list of everything you want to do/achieve, break them down into manageable tasks and assign time/day slots to each of those, and things will gradually feel more manageable. And if you're stuck on where to start? Write out the problems/obstacles stopping you from getting going in as much detail as possible, and you're most of the way to solving them. Break things into manageable chunks and take them, one bite at a time. I’ve been saying this for YEARS! They’re called video games for a reason—people LOVE to play games, not just watch them. The same goes for toys—toys are meant to be played with. Unfortunately, many executives, while they might be great people, don’t fully grasp this concept. This misunderstanding leads to a vicious cycle of layoffs, creating a culture of fear among employees who stay, worried about their livelihoods. This fear stifles innovation, pushing people to take the 'safe' route instead of driving true creativity. Being part of the 'cool crowd' isn’t what’s cool. What’s truly cool is producing meaningful, fun, and innovative products that resonate with people and benefit everyone. #ForTheCulture🧡☠️🤖

Wow, I didn't expect my last post to strike a chord like it did, but it only shows how clear of an issue it is; and that how we approach people from the start says everything about what we value! Okay here's the thing - she's a star. You don't often meet people in your adult life...especially at work that you bond with so quickly. But the universe showed up and showed out with this one. This lady is a fearless fighter and moves with a level of intention that must be admired. She's a bull when it comes to creating human-centric experiences and stories. Both inside the office and out, she has challenged me and so many others to expand our perspectives, push ourselves, excel at our goals, speak loudly, and live freely. Her understanding of marketing comes from her ability to genuinely communicate with people in a way that they can comprehend and are willing to receive.
