!! Critical Steps from Design-For-Manufacturing/Assembly to Selecting the Right Contract Manufacturer!! 🛠️ Common Misconception: Jumping Straight to Tooling Jumping straight to tooling post-DFMA is a common trap. It's essential to pause and get a quote from a contract manufacturer first. This isn't just a procedural step—it's about ensuring your project's scope, expectations, and budget align perfectly. 🔗 Levels of Contract Manufacturing Liaison Support at Hatch Duo At Hatch Duo, we don't just support your design process; we become a part of your team. Whether it's tweaking CAD files or joining you in deep-dive discussions with factories, our involvement is tailored to what your project really needs to move smoothly from idea to production. 📐 Capabilities of Contract Manufacturers The skills and offerings of contract manufacturers can vary widely. While some are equipped to handle small adjustments like CAD file edits, others might not be. Understanding the specific capabilities and limits of your CM partner is crucial—it's not a one-size-fits-all deal. 👋 Think we might help fill the gaps? Let’s chat to fine-tune the nuts and bolts of your unique project together. #DesignThinking #EngineeringExcellence #ProductDesign #ManufacturingSupport

Recently we were working on some deliverables for our key customer. Typically, my design engineer takes care of CAD design activities while I generally lead the technical presentation part. While working on customer presentations, we should be very careful on content delivery. Message to be delivered should be very crisp & clear to your customer. Your presentation plays a very important role as good as your actual product performance. Minor mistakes too can cost your organization brand image. Keeping this in mind, every time I personally did work on customer presentations which I could have asked my design engineer to do the same. But this time, I requested my design engineer to lead the presentation activity as well. Reason behind, If I don’t ask him to try it, he won’t be able to learn those new skills. The presentation he prepared was very well structured & precise. Though we did some minor corrections, but overall content was very presentable. My takeaway was you should trust your teammates abilities & provide multiple opportunities to them to show up their skills. They do wonders.

"The most complicated skill is to be simple." – Dejan Stojanovic In the world of engineering and systems design, simplicity isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity. The real art lies in taking a complex system and refining it into something that is: ⚙️ Optimized: Meeting all technical goals efficiently. 🛡️ Safe: Mitigating risks without unnecessary complexity. ✅ Compliant: Adhering to regulations without over-engineering. 🏋️♂️ Robust: Standing the test of use and time. Simplifying doesn’t mean cutting corners; it means designing with clarity and purpose, reducing unnecessary layers, and ensuring that every component works harmoniously. This skill is often the hardest to master, requiring a deep understanding of the system, stakeholder needs, and the broader environment. But when done well, simplicity leads to better designs, fewer issues, and more sustainable solutions. How do you manage to maintain simplicity in complex engineering projects? Let’s discuss and share strategies! 💡 #SimplicityInDesign #SystemsEngineering #ContinuousImprovement #EngineeringLeadership #InnovationSimplified
