During National Diaper Need Awareness Week (September 23 – 29) we're amplifying our efforts to end diaper insecurity and sharing how the Good+ network and community can join us. Here's a snapshot of our efforts: -We’ve donated over 36 million diapers since 2001. -We are a proud member of the National Diaper Bank Network, working to find long-term solutions to diaper need. -This year, we advocated with our NDBN partners to secure $1.5M in state funding to address diaper need across New York State. -We’re collaborating with Coterie to provide a year’s supply of diapers for families through the Coterie Diaper Share Program. What you can do: Make a donation to support our efforts in ending diaper need. Mail unused diapers to our NYC or LA warehouses⎯Coterie will cover shipping costs through 2025. Here are four simple ways you can help someone in our community! 1. Send a Text 📱 Sending a text doesn't take long and can make someone's day! Take a minute and tell them you're thinking about them, tell them something you love about them, or thank them for being in your life. 2. Donate Clothes 👗 If you have clothes you don't wear anymore, you can donate them to those in need. Find local clothing donation opportunities on JustServe! 3. Visit the Elderly 👴🏻👵🏻 Assisted living centers often love volunteers coming to visit with residents. The holiday season is a wonderful time to spread joy and generosity. Here are a few ways you can make a difference and bring smiles to faces in your community: Donate to a Local Charity: Consider supporting local organizations that are making a difference in your community. Every little bit helps! Volunteer Your Time: Many organizations need extra hands during the holidays. Look for opportunities at food banks, shelters, or senior centers. Sponsor a Family: Many charities offer programs where you can sponsor a family for the holidays, providing them with essentials and gifts. Organize a Drive: Gather friends and family to collect toys, coats, or non-perishable food items for those in need. Craft Holiday Cards: Make and send holiday cards to local hospitals, nursing homes, or overseas troops to spread some cheer. Offer Your Skills: If you have a special skill, like knitting or carpentry, use it to create gifts for those who might appreciate them. This season let's come together to support our community and make the holidays a little brighter for everyone. Share how you're giving back using #BrightonOurWorldGives. #GiveBack #HolidaySeason #BrightonOurWorld #CommunityKindness

Recently, the nation was shocked with the abuse that children had gone through in a charity home. All charity homes/ orphanages should implement and adhere to basic safety and health rules to ensure that every child feels the love and belonging of a safe home. Jayden OSH has carried out 2 Free Kids Safety & Health Programs in Orphanages in JB & KL, and will be carrying out more in time to come. Below are some things that you can do as OSH Changemakers: #jaydenosh

If you follow the Public Interest Law Center's work in areas like housing, public education, and voting, you may not be as familiar with our Garden Justice Legal Initiative. Community gardens are critical anchors in Philadelphia's Black and Brown neighborhoods. They have been shown to increase access to fresh produce, improve air quality, and significantly reduce gun violence and overall crime. Yet in many gardens, the neighborhood residents who steward the land do not have legal title. Many gardens sit on parcels that are at risk of being lost at a tax foreclosure sale to developers or real estate speculators. The Public Interest Law Center represents non-profit gardens seeking legal access to the land they have been maintaining, in some cases for decades. We use litigation, advocacy, community education, and organizing strategies to preserve Philadelphia green space. As you prepare to make decisions about your year-end donations, please consider the Public Interest Law Center. Growing justice is what we do here. You can support us at pubintlaw.org/donate.
Your donation this Giving Season supports urban farms and community gardens that provide fresh, affordable food to neighborhoods in need. 🍎🌿 These vital resources strengthen communities, promote health, and empower neighbors to care for one another. Donate today and help grow justice: pubintlaw.org/donate #FoodSecurity #GivingTuesday #TogetherForJustice

I was listening to an NPR Life Kit tonight about Giving Tuesday - they were trying to help people figure out how to make charitable gifts. 1) Think about things you care about. 2) Write down a list of organizations that are working to make that happen, and 3) Make a budget. (And make a donation!) It's not bad advice. It's a little dry and passionless for my taste - but in some ways, I hope you do this today/Tuesday. I hope you think about what you want your community to look like for *everyone* and think about your budget and give what you can give. Today/Tuesday is a great day to do it because a lot of non-profits are hoping you will, but really any day is a good day to give. I've worked at WayForward Resources for 23 years come January. It's a good organization that is very responsibly operated and managed, with the best of the people you've ever known working and volunteering and teaming together to create that better world. Follow along with our GivingTuesday Block Party all day long. If nothing else, please share a post or two. Give a few (or more) dollars if you can. Make the world better for someone today. As one of the equally busiest food pantries in our community, and one of the only organizations in Dane County providing housing case management, eviction prevention funds, and a doubled-up housing program, your donation during this will increase our impact, helping us provide food, housing, and hope to our community. #buildtogether
