🧠Science has been a fundamental force in shaping my life and career. As a scientist, I’ve directly benefited from countless advancements that have empowered me to explore how the brain controls movement. I’ve applied these insights to build better AI technology, making an impact both in science and in the real world. Science enables me to continue pushing the boundaries of knowledge, advancing both health and innovation. 🧬 On a personal level, I’ve benefited from science in many ways—from vaccines that protect my health, to medications that provide life-sustaining support to those I love, and even the science of safe food handling that I rely on for every meal. Science is truly life-saving, but we need to continue to do more. Too many still suffer and die due to a lack of fundamental knowledge about how our brain and bodies work. We must continue pushing for scientific advancements that change lives. As the recent winner of the Swiss Science Prize, I’m humbled to thus represent, and also work for, a country that deeply values investment in science and technology🇨🇭. As an American 🇺🇸, also having been trained in the U.S. at Harvard, I stand in solidarity with my U.S. colleagues, advocating for the fundamental importance of science. 🌎 Every country in the world should fight to maintain and prioritize science—it is essential for our collective progress. We must ensure that science remains a global priority, and that it continues to thrive, no matter where we are. 🙌 #SupportScience #ScienceMatters #StandUpForScience2025 https://lnkd.in/gu-Y2XxX
