My first week at Team RH Fitness has been fantastic!
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many new faces and getting set up with some amazing tech. I’ve also been given access to the Team RH app and their newest release—Bite Me—and I have to say, Bite Me has quickly become my favorite app!
For the past year, I’ve been on a weight loss journey using MyFitnessPal, but today, I switched it up. I made my usual salad for lunch and tried Bite Me for tracking, and wow—it was so quick and easy to use. Goodbye MFP 👋!
So, what makes Bite Me so great? A standout feature is the ability to group foods into a GoTo—perfect for items you consume regularly like tea, coffee, or your go-to meals. Just add that group with one click, and you’re set. The nutritional targets display is another game-changer, showing not just what you’ve consumed but also what you have left to hit your goals.
And the recipe function? Game. Changer. No more math or messing around weighing pots and pans —Bite Me calculates everything for you. It’s clear that this product was designed with the user in mind, and the focus on quality is undeniable.
I’m excited to dive in and start writing automation tests for the Android app to ensure that quality remains at the heart of everything we do here at Team RH.

“The present is a gift – that’s why they call it the present.” But what if it increasingly looks like this is one present we all want to return?
Yesterday, many hours flew by as my family and I played video games and pinball machines, at a one of a kind vintage arcade right here in New Jersey. The minute I heard the Space Invaders tune (#iykyk), or managed to eat that fruit that made my Pac-Man invisible, all thoughts of work, politics, and worse - dissipated into the thick, semi dark air of the small arcade.
You can call it magic - but as trends researchers we know it’s the brain’s reaction to #nostalgia, the trend of all trends, the one we return to - double meaning - when life gets harder than ever.
Nostalgia is an important strategy in your #sparkjoy toolbox, and every year since #covid we have been seeing more examples - from the success of vintage candy and toys (hey Barbie!), game nights and jigsaw puzzles, and all things birthday-cake flavor.
In 2024, the rise of the “kidult” phenomenon continued to highlight a significant shift in consumer behavior. Adults accounted for 17.3% of total toy sales in the U.S., equating to about $6.7 billion—a growth of 8% over the previous year. This trend was mirrored in Europe, where adults made up approximately 16% of toy sales, totaling around €2.6 billion.
And as the growing presence of vinyl stores would suggest, in this Spotify era people are once again buying records. The global vinyl records market was projected to grow from $1.5 billion in 2023 to $2.4 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.1%. There’s no “functional” need for vinyls, yet from a #JobsToBeDone perspective there’s a social connection and mental reward that drives this growth.
For brands, tapping into this nostalgia offers a pathway to connecting with consumers on a deeper emotional level, driving growth through #Joy.
By thoughtfully embracing nostalgia, brands can offer consumers a comforting escape, evoke positive emotions, and build lasting connections that drive sustained growth. As a #millennial, I’m more than prepared for any contest that would dig up Digger using DOS - it’s like riding a bicycle… specifically, a BMX, while wearing a 501 pair of Levi’s with a Casio watch and earphones connected to a Sony Walkman. :))
