When we invest in marketing, we invest in a brand's future growth and success. When we don't operate with the mindset that marketing is a long-term strategy, we "cut marketing" the moment things get tough and start it back up when things get better, expecting it to work immediately. It's like pulling your retirement the moment your interest shows signs of waning. STAY THE COURSE. Nurture your investments with consistency and watch them flourish over time.
A powerful reminder from Mark P. Jung that reframes how we view marketing efforts. It's not just an expense, it's an investment in future growth and success.

Should exploration companies spend money on marketing? On one hand, companies need to attract investors and maintain market interest, especially in a crowded (and - rightfully so - skeptical) space. On the other hand, every dollar spent on marketing is a dollar not going into the ground, where the real value is created. The key is balance, as with most things in life, I guess (what does a 20-something ginger know about life, though?!). Good marketing is educational, not just hype. It explains the "why" behind the business strategy - why this project might matter, why you think this is the right team to make it happen, why the next step is worth spending money on, etc. Bad marketing, on the other hand, is short-term fluff that focuses only on the blue skies and doesn't provide any real explanations/answers, but it burns money, creates distrust and undermines credibility. It's easier said than done, though. It's not an easy balance. What are some strategies you think exploration companies can employ to lower the cost of marketing, which increases its effectiveness? Here is a brief clip from my interview with Simon Clarke, CEO of American Potash where I asked him what his plans are and how he thinks about marketing.

When investors start reaching out to you to get in on a deal, marketing is working! When your strategy is still 100% outbound, your marketing is still working, it just hasn't kicked into gear yet. Marketing takes time, especially when it comes to securities offerings!
