The UK Government has abandoned plans to destroy original paper Wills in England and Wales after widespread opposition during a public consultation. The consultation, which saw responses from around 1,600 individuals, included family historians, genealogists, and the general public, many of whom expressed concerns about the security, reliability, and authenticity of digitised Wills. While respondents supported digitisation for accessibility and preservation, they opposed the destruction of originals. The government will maintain the original archive, citing ongoing storage costs, and is considering revising fees for accessing copies of Wills to offset expenses. #Will #LegalNews #LegalReform

It's publication day for my new book Hopeful Realism, co-authored with Micah Watson (Calvin) and Jesse Covington (Westmont). The book describes an evangelical theory of natural law and shows how to put into practice in the context of pluralist democratic politics. Our judgment is that too much of evangelical politics has long been a mess in part because we lack a robust framework within which we can make wise political judgments. This book is our effort to help remedy that. https://lnkd.in/gBSp6k2A
