When men join our groups or counseling and tell me they’re only sleeping 3–4 hours a night, my first advice is simple: prioritize your sleep. Why? Because without sleep, your brain can’t process, heal, or grow. When we’re severely sleep-deprived, we can’t fully show up for ourselves or the people we care about. Stress takes over, emotions run wild, and love—both for others and ourselves—gets pushed to the side. Sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s a foundation. Start there, and everything else becomes more manageable. Pause. Breathe. Rest.
