The Central Valley’s flood system requires maintenance and monitoring all year around, especially after large storm events. DWR’s Sacramento and Sutter Maintenance Yards are responsible for keeping many of the weirs and bypasses that protect communities across the Sacramento Valley clear of debris so they can safely move high water through the flood system. Last week, DWR staff from the Sutter Maintenance Yard cleared significant storm debris that had accumulated along the Colusa Weir which diverts highwater off the Sacramento River and providing flood protection and ecosystem benefits. #Sacramento #Storm #ColusaWeir #CentralValley
