Whether you joined us in person, tuned in live, or are catching up now, we’re thrilled to share the recording from Music is Math! This special evening celebrated the intersection of AI, music, and creativity, marking the incredible growth of the OpenAI Forum from 200 to over 10,000 members. The night featured groundbreaking performances, including: 🚀 Ode to the Sun and Moon – A mesmerizing AI-assisted composition inspired by NASA's solar eclipse data, performed by Wavv founder and 2023 Grammy winner Ivan Linn alongside Jess Chang, TPM @ OpenAI and founder of Chamber Music by the Bay. 🎼 Music for Heart and Breath – A deeply personal composition conducted by the heartbeat of "Mother of Robots" Carol Reiley, performed by Daniel Stewart, Creative Director of the Santa Cruz Symphony, and In Sun Jang, 1st chair violinist of the San Francisco Symphony. 🧠 Real-Time Brainwave Visualization – An intriguing exploration of neurotechnology in music. Tony Jebara, VP of Engineering and Head of AI/ML at Spotify, wore Kim O.’s Emotiv headset, visually displaying his real-time brain activity as he listened. The Music is Math panel, moderated by Head of Experimental Audio Christine McLeavey, delved into AI’s evolving role in creative fields. Panelists Ivan Linn, Carol Reiley, and Greg Schmidt from NASA shared insights on how AI can enhance—not replace—human creativity, discussed ethical considerations of AI in the arts, and explored its potential to democratize innovation. As Greg Schmidt beautifully summarized, “AI is helping us explore space, but it’s also inspiring the next generation of scientists, musicians, and dreamers.”

It’s so cool to see more people exploring real-time AI & BCI, similar to what Will Selviz and I are doing with Protopica. Would love to talk more about it Tony Jebara https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAt2d3gykxN/?igsh=MXhremg2aXFkM2d4OA==
