What if... we could rewrite some of the rules? At #AccelerateGov today with my fave session being on Culture Fit and Innovation which had amazing insights from an international panel of experts. I was ready to step out of my comfort zone and ask a question—but then, time ran out! 😬 So, I’m bringing my question here in hopes the panel (and you!) can weigh in. 💬 Here’s what I rehearsed in my head 20 times and wanted to say (with sweaty palms at a mic in front of hundreds of my colleagues): "I'm Alex Sacca, a Free Agent on assignment at the Canada School of Public Service and the Innovation Hubs & Labs Network. We spend a lot of time talking about blockers, culture and mindset shifts, and leadership challenges. Our Annual conference, INNOVEX is coming up November 19th and the theme is ‘What If?” My ‘what if’ is what if we could break free from the hierarchy that feeds the status quo? What if senior management didn’t spend so much time tied up with compliance? 🤔" So, here’s my lightning-round question for the panel and all of you: What’s the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Culture Fit and Innovation in the Public Service to finish this sentence: 'What if …..?
