- [Instructor] When you sign in to dropbox.com, you'll see Paper listed in the app menu. What is Paper and why and when might you want to use it? At its core, Paper is a cloud-based word processing program much like Google Docs, but if you think it's just a Google Docs clone, you're missing the point. The main purpose of Paper is collaboration. It's most useful for those who routinely collaborate with groups of other Dropbox users. When you create your first Paper document, you'll see the spare stripped down interface. Paper works hard to stay out of your way, tries to keep you from being distracted by formatting and helps you focus on content. It's easy to include many types of content in Paper, such as Dropbox files, images, video, code snippets, to-do lists, tables and more. Paper includes powerful collaboration features.
