At its core, Paper is a cloud-based word processing program much like Google Docs, but if you think it's just a Google Docs clone, you're missing the point. The main purpose of Paper is collaboration. It's most useful for those who routinely collaborate with groups of other Dropbox users. When you create your first Paper document, you'll see the spare stripped down interface.
