AI-enabled programming, networking, and cybersecurity: Introduction
- Welcome to the course AI-Enabled Programming, Networking, and Cybersecurity. My name is Omar Santos. In this course, you will embark on a journey to explore the revolution and the power of artificial intelligence in three critical domains, programming, networking, and cybersecurity. AI continues to evolve and reshape many industries, so understanding its applications and also implications is essential for anyone looking to stay ahead of the tech world nowadays. In the first lesson, we will introduce you to the evolution of AI-driven tools that are real world applications, and you will explore key concepts in orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, and others. You will also learn about open source AI models, including large language models and small language models as well. You're going to go over retrieval-augmented generation, embedding models, and vector databases, and we're going to talk about dimensionality of data and also different ways that you can do chunking and retrieval methods for enhancing, you know, the tasks that you are given and providing more context to the LLMs. Now, you will then discover how AI is revolutionizing cybersecurity. We will cover the acceleration of network security task, prompt engineering for cybersecurity, securing AI implementations, and integrating AI tools into network security processes. You will explore how AI is transforming software development. We will examine AI tools like GitHub, Copilot, Cursor, the Codex model, generating code from prompts and prompt engineering for software development. You will learn about AI in network management and also prompt engineering for networking. You will learn about additional AI applications in emerging technologies like quantum computing. We're going to spend a lot of time together, so let me quickly introduce myself. I currently work at Cisco's Security and Trust Organization. I have been in cybersecurity for quite a while, and now I specialize in AI security, both using AI for security and securing AI implementations. I am the author of over 25 books and many video courses and lead several industry-wide initiatives and standards like OpenEoX, the Common Security Advisory Framework. I'm part of the governing board of the Coalition of Secure AI and also part of the board of OASIS Open, the standards organization. Well, enough about me, we have a lot of material to cover, so let's get started.
